Indoor Climbing Walls in Summit County
Breckenridge Recreation Center
The Breckenridge Recreation Center offers indoor lessons, free-climbs, competitions, climbing certifications, and more. There are two separate climbing areas, one is a multi-purpose area with belay rides for kids and it also has an area for bouldering with technical overhang routes for even the practiced climbers to test their skills. The other area is in front of the recreation center and it offers continually changing routes that challenge all climbing abilities. BRC is located just off Highway 9, at 800 Airport Road in Breckenridge. To get here from Keystone, just follow Highway 6 south to Swan Mountain Road and follow this down to Breckenridge and you’ll be rock climbing and bouldering in no time.
Remember that if you want to climb on your own, you need a certification. The Breckenridge Recreation Center offers certification classes in Top Rope climbing, bouldering and lead climbing. These certification classes are a great way to make sure you are qualified and experienced to go rock climbing on your own out in the mountains and it is a good use of family time.
