Downhill Mountain Biking at Keystone Resort Bike Park
Keystone Bike Park Opens June 26th 2010
Keystone Resort offers Keystone Bike Park
Keystone Bike Park offers a wide range of Downhill Mountain Bike riding trails and areas offering downhill mountain bikers of all skill levels a fun and exciting place to ride. Keystone Bike Park offers 29 lift served Bike Park Trails to keep you busy as long as you want and eliminates the hard uphill climbs and with Summit Express Chairlift operating from 9AM to 5PM you can really get your money’s worth. Foot passengers are stopped from getting on the lifts until 4:00PM Keystone Bike Park sits at an elevation of 11,640 feet on top with a vertical drop of over 2300 feet with access to over 55 trails and over 55 miles of trails and over 100 mils of single track bike trails for touring.
For the new rider Keystone Bike Park offers Green Trails which consist of single track dirt trails that offer grades of around 6% passing through wooded and open mountainside. Riders will encounter some smaller rocks and roots and you should have some basic biking skills, you don’t want to learn to ride a bike but you don’t have to be a pro.
For the intermediate riders Keystone offers you a Blue Trails, just like skiing they are a bit more difficult and challenging and offer great rewards to those who conquer them. You will encounter steeper terrain, larger obstacles and some cool features like bridges, tabletops and banked turns.
For the more advanced riders Keystone Resort comes through shining but will leave a permanent smile across your face and might leave you wondering why you don’t do this all the time. You have your option of Black, Double Black and Drop Zone trails. These trails will consist of very difficult, steep single track trails with huge rocks roots and skinny bridges, step-ups gaps and all sorts of awesome terrain. Not for beginners or posers. This is some serious riding.
The Drop Zone is out of control. You have four Alley’s to choose from and drops from 5 to 22 feet. Try the Witch Doctor, it’s a nasty bridge launch that skies you into the air and has a smooth (sometimes) natural terrain landing and banked corners.
