Although Vail Resorts (Keystone, Breckenridge, Vail and Beaver Creek) are not part of this, this is a significant promo to mention to skiers.  Purchase 10 gallons or more of gas at any participating Shell Gas Station and get a voucher for a free lift ticket.  Adult tickets are good from January 4th 2010 to April 16th 2010.  Participating resorts include Monarch Mountain, Powderhorn, Copper Mountain, and Winter Park.

If you think you can pass your sister’s season pass of as your own, think again.  The resort is on the lookout for people who might be tempted to borrow a pass.   According to 9 news, a woman who attempted to ski for free this week by using her boyfriend’s pass was arrested for “theft of over $500 and criminal impersonation.”  She does deserve credit for creativity.  When confronted about the borrowed pass, she confessed that she was going through a sex change operation.  After the sheriff’s office contacted her parents, who were shocked to hear the news about their son, she admitted that she borrowed her boyfriend’s pass, but didn’t want him to get in trouble.  After court and attorney’s fees, she is really going to wish she had just paid for the lift ticket!

Initially Colorado Pass sales were scheduled to end on 11/15/09.  They have extended sales until Nov. 22.  If you have not bought your season pass, you get a second chance!  This winter is already off to a great start with big snowstorms.  Five days of skiing makes the pass worth it!  This year, you can purchase the Summit pass and Epic pass online, so you no longer need to be physically present to purchase.
