A Look at Keystone Resort’s River Run Rocks Summer Concert Series

Keystone's River Run Rocks Concert Series is back for summer beginning on July 7th at 5pm.  This favorite Keystone event will kick off in River Run Village Plaza with a performance by The Six Million Dollar Band.  Food and drink specials will be available to concert goers, along with seating on the decks of Keystone restaurants such as Wolf Rock, 9280’ TapHouse and Luigi’s.

Arapahoe Basin Hosts Festival of Brewpubs on May 27th

Visit Arapahoe Basin on Sunday, May 27th for the annual Festival of Brewpubs.   You can spend the day sampling mugs of beer from a variety of Colorado brewpubs for one low price per 14 oz mug.  Needless to say, you must be 21 to attend. Participating breweries will include Pug Ryan’s, Breckenridge, Dillon Dam, Backcountry and more.

Expect great live music, springtime skiing and much more! The New Classics Band, a top cover band out of Denver, Colorado will perform at the festival. This outstanding five piece band plays your favorite 80′s rock hits, 70′s funk and soul, and classic rock and roll dance songs that keep the energy high.

  • Cost: $25 per 14 oz  mug. No other costs are associated with beer samples.
  • Time: Sampling from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. Please bring ID.  No mugs will be sold without it!
  • Food: Sliders for sale in the base area – $2ea or 3 for $5. You can also purchase food from the Legend’s Cafe or Outside BBQ Grill.

Keystone Resort’s Volcom Peanut Butter and Rail Jam Set for March 31st

Keystone Resort will host theVolcom Peanut Butter and Rail Jam on Saturday, March 31st.  This event is free, and run on a first-come, first-serve basis.  There will be prizes, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!  All participants will receive a free Volcom PBRJ shirt and other event items.

The free amateur snowboard contest series is just a little bit different than your average snowboard contest.  Instead of having rails or features that are set up in a row, three rails are dug in side by side to create a single large rail zone.

If you are looking for some extra entertainment after the PB and Rail Jam, the last show of the March Concert Series at Warren Station will take place at 8 pm on the 31st.  40 Oz. to Freedom, a Sublime Tribute Band will perform an energetic show.  40 Oz. to Freedom was awarded with the Best Tribute at the 2010 San Diego Music Awards.  Cost is $12 at the door, and tickets are also available in advance online.

Celebrate Spring Break at Keystone Kidtopia this March

It’s time for spring skiing in Keystone Colorado, and Keystone Resort has some great activities lined up for the month, just in time for your spring break vacation.  The popular and family-friendly Kidtopia festival is back for two separate weeks in March.  Kidtopia is designed just for kids, and includes the Snow Fort, dancing to live music, arts and crafts, Disco Tubing and educational activities.  The special family dinners for Kidtopia will take place on March 10th and March 17th. Reservations are recommended.

Summit Community Orchestra Spring Concert in Keystone on March 9th

Warren Station at River Run Village in Keystone, Colorado will hose the Summit Community Orchestra Spring Concert on March 9th, 2012.  The concert begins at 7:00 pm, and the doors will open at 6:30 pm. 

The March 9th concert performed by the Summit Community Orchestra will consist of a variety of pieces of chamber music performed by musicians as well as other talented members of the Summit County Community. The music will include a flute duet, wind quartet, cello quartet, quintet for strings and clarinet as well as harp music and other wind ensembles.  There is no cost to attend, but donations will be accepted at the door.  This is a perfect evening event to kick off your spring ski trip!

Live Music this Holiday Weekend at the Snake River Saloon

Funkiphino has been described as Colorado’s “12 piece funk sensation” with their fun, upbeat tunes.   In 2004 the band released their debut CD “Lovin’ Life” and followed with 2 additional albums.  Their most recent album, titled ‘Live Coverage’ was recorded live in January of 2009 at the historic Boulder Theater in Boulder, Colorado.   Their high-energy funk sound is a combination of explosive horns, a Hammond organ and thumping bass with amazing vocals. They have been voted Best Funk Band by Westword Magazine and were chosen to play at the 55th Presidential Inauguration in Washington D.C.

Catch the band for 2 live nights of music at Keystone Resort this Holiday Weekend at the Snake River Saloon on Friday February 17 and Saturday February 18.  Admission to the show is just $10 both evenings in the bar section of the restaurant and shows typically start around 9pm.  It’s THE place to be in Keystone this weekend for live music and dancing!

Keystone Hosts the Helly Hansen Big Mountain Battle January 28th!

Keystone Resort is one of 4 mountains to host the 4th season of the Helly Hansen Big Mountain Battle.  Teams of two will compete to win $2,000 worth of Helly Hansen gear and an entry in the final battle in Aspen.  Runs are designed by ski patrol with times to beat for each course.

Open to all age levels, this event will include advanced, intermediate and Under 12 courses.  Teams will explore the mountain in the allotted 3 hour time period.  Checkpoints will include various lifts, runs and hikes.  Teams  are given a course map and team card, and will be tracked by GPS.  The top 3 teams receive awards.

Keystone Resort’s Canvas and Cocktails Returns on January 21st

On January 21st, 2012, Keystone Resort will host Canvas and Cocktails.  This fun night out at Warren Station in River Run Village will help you explore your artistic side!  Canvas and Cocktails is a creative class for artists of all levels, including beginners.  There is no experience required, and this is a great opportunity to learn the basics of acrylic painting with friends or family.  An instructor will take you step by step to recreate a featured painting that night.  It’s easy, fun, and totally stress free. By the end of the night you will be amazed at the artwork you have created.

Doors open and cocktails will be served beginning at 6 PM, painting begins at 7 PM.  Ticket costs are $41.99 in advance, $45.00 at the door. Purchase your tickets online in advance!
