The mountains are a fun place to explore on a 4-wheeler! If you have ever wanted to join a 4x4 club, we have pulled together some of the 4x4 auto clubs that are active within Summit County. Many are based along the Front Range, but they regularly travel into the mountains for 4-wheeling excursions.
These clubs typically also aid in search and rescue operations in wooded areas of the state, and they also provide assistance to medical services in snowy weather. Contact and membership information for each club follows, as well as a description given by the club.
MILE-HI JEEP CLUB OF COLORADO

Description: Mile-Hi Jeep Club was formed in 1956 as a social club to unite adventure loving people in worthwhile 4-wheel drive activities. The club works to educate members in the proper and responsible manner of all road driving. The club works through various grants, internal and external, to preserve the natural beauty and terrain of our OHV roads and trails in Colorado. All Patrols within the club have adopt-a-trail agreements with land managers to assist in this process.
The club encourages members to participate, on a voluntary basis, in search and rescue and other humanitarian missions the community needs. We have a strong and active contingent in the F.E.A.T. program in the Denver Metro area that aids emergency services in times of heavy snowfall to get to where they need to be. This includes getting doctors to hospitals to work their shift, getting patients to chemo therapy and the like so they can continue on their path to recovery, and rescuing stranded motorists when requested.

SOLIHULL SOCIETY

Description: The Solihull Society, founded in 1991, is a Land Rover club serving Colorado and vicinity. Membership is open to all Rover enthusiasts (whether you own a Rover or not). The club is devoted to providing a social forum for Rover enthusiasts, several off-road events per year, a quarterly newsletter, and education about Rovers and their maintenance.
The Solihull Society is the host club of the LAND ROVER NATIONAL RALLY. The event has been held in many locations in Utah and Colorado including Moab, Ouray, Breckenridge, Crested Butte, Leadville, Montrose & Steamboat Springs. We are celebrating our 22nd year of The Land Rover National Rally. The Land Rover National Rally is a non-profit event organized by the Solihull Society. This event aims to bring together adventure loving people who share the common interest of Land Rovers and active four-wheeling.

Description: We are open to all four-wheel drive trucks, from bone-stock to highly modified. Trips are rated according to difficulty, so you know what is appropriate for your vehicle. If exploring scenic and challenging four-wheel drive trails, socializing with other four-wheelers in a family atmosphere, or sitting around the old campfire after a day of trail riding sharing laughs and swapping tall-tales interests you, then contact Bighorn 4x4s and join in the fun.
Required items for a run are: four-wheel drive vehicle in good repair, valid driver's license, registration and insurance, seat belts, fire extinguisher, full size spare tire, jack, lug wrench, tow hooks or clevis, first aid kit, water and basic tools.

Our goal on the trail is to get everyone through all difficult areas.
