Breckenridge Golf Club

The Breckenridge Golf Club is a 27-hole course designed by Jack Nicklaus and is owned and operated by the town of Breckenridge. The course features three nine-hole sets being the Elk, Beaver, and Bear courses, all ranging in skill and difficulty. Golf Digest “Places to Play” rates Breckenridge as a 4 1/2 Star Facility, and as one of their top “Upscale Places To Play” in the nation. The course is also Zagat rated. The golf course is situated in a beautiful mountain valley and many golfers choose two of the three courses for an 18-hole round. Due to this the par and yardage depend on which two courses, but if you have time, go ahead and play on all three.

Playing at 9300+ feet in elevation, each nine offers a mountain golf experience. Enjoy panoramic views of the snowcapped Colorado Rockies as you golf on every hole. Dense wooded areas give way to open native grassland and wetland areas. It is not uncommon to spot wildlife during your round! Each nine has its own unique set of landscape, wildlife and features, with Bear being the most difficult. The Elk course features the most drastic changes in elevation and it is littered with bushes and lakes; make sure you are aiming well.  The Beaver nine has the narrowest fairways of the three and has a few beaver ponds in the area.

To get here from Keystone, take Highway 6 to Swan Mountain Road and follow this as it continues into Highway 9. Continue south to Tiger Road and lookout for signs leading to the golf course. Fees are about $100 and the dress code is: collared shirts, no cut-offs, denim acceptable. Breckenridge Golf Club is open from late May through early October. BGC has a full restaurant and bar, driving range, practice green and a pro-shop. This is quite possibly the most popular golf course in Summit County and offers a wide variety of rounds. You can mix and match the three different nines for an 18-hole round, or do all three for one very long game!
