Mountain Angler Ltd. is the oldest fly-fishing guide service in Summit County. They have a variety of services including Walk & Wade trips, River Float trips, Lake Float trips, lessons, excursions and rentals. Mountain Anglers is situated in Breckenridge and is also near the headwaters of five major rivers. Within an hour of the shop the option to fish the Blue, Eagle, Colorado, Arkansas and South Platte Rivers, a dozen smaller streams, 3 reservoirs with record-breaking fish, and even a few “lurker ponds” virtually any kind of trout fishing you might want, is available. Mountain Angler is open year round, so you can even learn how to ice fish with these guys and gals.
The Mountain Anglers also have a private ranch with 5 miles of private fishing rivers available. The river produces multiple kinds of trout (Brook, Brown, Rainbow, and Cutthroat) and in the late summer, some of the brownies can get up to seven pounds! The prices range depending on the package you are looking for; the low-end is $160 for one person (fly-fishing lessons) up to $450 per guide (river float trips) and everywhere in between for the excursions. These excursions generally include equipment rentals and operate more on a per guide than per person price.
