Ten Mile Canyon offers multiple courses from beginner to expert and is very easily accessible. To get here from Keystone, head west on I-70 and you will see multiple climbing areas in this canyon. The first climbing area is at Mount Royal. Many of the rocks are loose and ready to fall, so use extreme caution when climbing in this area.
The approach to this area is at the beginning of the Frisco Park and Ride bike path entrance. Bushwhack through the trees to the base of the rocks. The dome area is a bit safer and perfect for the beginner/intermediate climber. To find this spot, pass the West Frisco Exit and head about .3 miles to a small clearing off the highway. Pull far off the road and look for rock piles (cairns) that guide you up the hill to the base of the rock. Once again, this is a gorgeous area to go climbing in and offers spectacular views and hiking trails.
