“You know it, when you feel it!” Copper Mountain resort is just over 20 miles from keystone and has 140 trails, 23 lifts, 2,490 acres of riding area and its tallest peak is 12,313 feet. Copper is known for its winding tree runs and having a little bit for everyone! Copper has a lot of grouped together runs, meaning, a lot of the blues are grouped together, along with the greens and blacks. It’ s easy to avoid unwanted runs/ obstacles at Copper. This ski resort has a lot of awesome competitions and events that you will want to mark your calendar for! Some great events to take note of that happen throughout the year are:
Sunsation- Copper’s spring festival. Completed with live music, the Slopesoaker’s competition, great food and the world’s largest easter egg hunt!
Snowboarding Grand Prix- Come see professional snowboarders shred at your favorite mountain!!
Brews and Tunes- This event happens every Friday in the summers. Enjoy over-sized lawn games in the village center. There is always craft beer and live tunes to dance to!
Bringing the kids along to shred? Copper is known for their beginner skier area “green acres”. Green acres is great for beginners of all ages, it’s a very flat part of the mountain equipped with a beginners lift. A beginners lift will just mean that it goes much slower and has a very flat exit at the top. The good news is if you’re a beginner, green acres lift tickets are only $20! No worries having to buy a regular priced lift ticket for the little ones! Copper is also known for their huge Park training facility, Woodward. Woodward has something for everyone at any skill level. They have beginner training for 6-17 year olds with some of the coolest coaches! Now your kids can learn park or pipe with amazing direction from highly-trained professionals. The greatest part of being able to train at woodward, is no experience necessary! They also have a massive indoor training park equipped with foam pits, ramps and rails you can ride on with their hand-crafted ski indoor skis and snowboards. All ages enjoy the indoor, year-round park at Woodward.
