The holidays are one of the absolute best times to be in the mountains. There’s nothing better than soft snow falling in a mountain village as you stroll through the shops and take in the cool mountain air, with the glimmering excitement of a waking up to a powder day, especially on Christmas morning. Holiday decorations and lights amplify the charm, with the sparkling snowflakes adding to the magical feeling in the air.
If you’ve never visited Keystone Resort over the holidays, you might not yet know what you are missing. Forget Disney World! Take your family to the mountains this year for their winter break getaway, where you can enjoy skiing, snow tubing, ice skating, snowmobiling, zip lining… the list goes on and on. Most kids will even just have a blast swimming in the pool while it’s snowing or playing board games together as a family. Don’t worry, the pools are heated year-round and it’s not as cold as it sounds! Give your family the gift of experiences and memories this year that will last a lifetime. Unwrap Christmas morning with a fresh ski wax and cup of hot chocolate out on the ski slopes.
Keystone hosts tons of fun events and activities for the holidays including the ‘Welcome Winter Family Carnival’ and ‘Pancakes with Santa’. Santa will be around with his reindeer throughout the holiday season, to meet kids and hear about their Christmas wishes! There are also fireworks every Saturday with Keystone Kidtopia, once the season gets into swing. Daily Kidtopia events will be happening with fun and free things for the kids to enjoy, such as parades, free cookies, arts and crafts and more. In mid-December, the Snow Fort opens, a larger than life snow castle that kids can explore, play at and have snowball fights! Take the kids ice skating at the rink at Dercum Square, near Buffalo Lodge, Dakota and Expedition Station Condos.
There are places that will deliver a Christmas Tree to your condo or private home rental, complete with lights and decorations! Your holiday traditions can continue in the mountains. Spend Christmas Eve together, sipping hot chocolate next to the fireplace. This holiday memory will be one that stands out from the rest and you’ll never forget. Book your holiday stay in Keystone today!
Fall is a great time of year to see wildlife in Keystone! In addition to the beautiful changing golds and orange hues on the trees, this is often the time when you’ll see moose, foxes, and sometimes even bears out and about in the area. We want to remind you to watch them in awe, ye, even stop for photos, but always keep a safe distance! These are wild animals and can be dangerous.
Here is a moose family that was spotted yesterday in West Keystone, in a marshy area off of West Keystone Road.
You’ve thought about heading to Keystone for Thanksgiving a few times over the years, yet you’re still hosting at your house. Here is why you should make your Keystone Thanksgiving lodging reservation today:
Skiing in a Football Jersey – enough said!
No dishes – it’s totally acceptable to go out for Thanksgiving Dinner while you’re on vacation. But if you do decide to cook, you can be confident that the kitchen in your condo or townhome is fully stocked with all the necessities for a great family meal. If not, we can make recommendations for the best restaurants in the Keystone Resort area. There are also some really awesome grocery delivery services in the area that will take the shopping and sometimes meal prep out of the equation for you!
Family Game Night. Nothing brings the family together like a fun game night. Spend the evening playing charades, Speak Out, Yahtzee, Scattergories or whatever the fam enjoys these days and bring out your competitive sides.
You’ll have the best stories to tell your co-workers on Tuesday morning back at work. Instead of tall-tales of the deep fryer setting the garage on fire, you’ll be sharing stories of the ski slopes and glorious champagne powder in between all of the leftovers, hot tub dips and football games.
PERSONAL SPACE! Stop cramming 15 people into your living room, with kids sharing beds and sleeping on the floor and putting grandma on a pullout sofa – book one of our spacious private homes or town homes and finally have the space to ENJOY one another’s company without getting on each other’s nerves. Your family will seriously thank you.
FUN! You and your family have limited time off together. This is one time of the year where you have an excuse to spend time together and HAVE FUN as a family, without the daily distractions of basketball practice and piano lessons. Use the long holiday weekend as the perfect excuse to have as much fun as you can with your family.
