If you find yourself looking for a ‘one of a kind’ dining experience during your stay in Keystone, the Alpenglow Stube is the restaurant to visit. Sitting at an elevation of 11,444 feet, Alpenglow Stube is the highest restaurant in North America and an experience you won’t forget!
You start your dining experience by taking two gondola rides to the North Peak at Keystone, where the restaurant is located. Keep in mind that these rides are chilly, to say the least, and will require short walks in the snow, so dress accordingly! Although this is an AAA 4-Diamond restaurant, it is not uncommon to see patrons still in their ski gear; so wear whatever is most comfortable for you. If you find yourself heading straight to the Alpenglow from a day of skiing, you will be offered a comfortable pair of slippers to change into when you arrive!
The two gondola rides take approximately 30 minutes. If you find yourself arriving early, I recommend grabbing a warm, signature drink at the bar to warm you up! The hosts will seat you in the cozy dining room complete with big windows, exposed timbers, a grand stone fireplace and huge antler chandeliers. You will be served a variety of breads and spreads while you browse the menu. Your waiter will most likely suggest the chef’s 7-course dinner for $110 and if you are a foodie this is absolutely the way to go; you can also order a la carte. Take a minute to look over the extensive wine selection, the waiters will be happy to give recommendations. Like other fine dining establishments in Keystone, the Alpenglow features a menu specializing in wild game, but with a bavarian influence on contemporary styles.
If you are a brunch lover, another option is to head up to AS on Sundays to enjoy their Signature Champagne Brunch! The meal kicks off with a complimentary mimosa and continues with seafood including oysters, shrimp, and king crab legs from the Raw Seafood Bar. You will also enjoy the buffet with a variety of cheeses from around the world, charcuterie, smoked seafood, composed salads and fresh fruit. Choice between two soups and six brunch entree options, with choices like Stube Steak & Eggs or Grilled New Zealand Lamb Chops. Finish off at the desert buffet if you have room! Price is $55 for adults or $35 for kids 12 and under.
