Head to the Mountain Art Gathering in Keystone July 21-23!

Mountain Art Gathering

July 21 - 23, 2011 - Times vary. - Price Varies, FREE entry into Art Show

A classic art show featuring 11 of America's leading artists as well as five local high school student artists, Mountain Art Gathering returns for its 13th Anniversary July 21st to July 23rd to benefit The Summit Foundation. Set amid the picturesque Rocky Mountains at Warren Station (formerly the Pavilion) at Keystone in River Run, this year's Mountain Art Gathering will be a unique culmination of inspirational art, collectors, mentors, volunteers, artists and patrons. During this three-day event, 20 percent of all art sales will be donated to The Summit Foundation by the artists. With this farewell show, expect to see the best of the past 13 years.

Assembled from around the country, the featured artists include: The Gatherers, comprised of B.J. Briner, Doyle Goebel, Phil Poirier, and Doug Ricketts; and their Guests: Roy Brown, Chris Dahl-Bredine, Jared and Nicole Davis, Robert Deurloo, Lona Hymas-Smith, Jean Latka, and Maria Samora. Following a tradition begun three years ago, five students from Summit High School have been selected to share their art at this year's show. The students include three photographers, L'amour Johnson, Jacqueline Las and Patrick Paden; and two ceramicists, Christine Fernandez and Mario Zuany.

The event will open with an Artist's reception on Thursday evening July 21 and Friday evening July 22 will feature a live auction with elegant appetizers. The Gatherers and each of the guest artists will each donate a special piece of artwork for the live auction, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting The Summit Foundation. A professional auctioneer will travel from booth to booth highlighting each donated piece, as well as providing background information on the artist that created it. Guests may attend either evening receptions for $30 per person or $50 per person for both nights. In addition, the show will be free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday July 22 and Saturday July 23.

Over the past dozen years, through the sales and donations of works of art, The Gatherers and their guest artists have helped The Summit Foundation raise nearly $600,000 through the annual Mountain Art Gathering.
Invitations for the evening receptions will be mailed to The Summit Foundation's donors in June. Donors may call The Summit Foundation to reserve tickets for the evening events.
