Keystone & Summit County Independence Day Fireworks Have Been Canceled

A stage 2 fire ban has been set in Summit County, therefore cancelling all 4th of July fireworks displays within the area, including at Keystone, Breckenridge and Frisco.  The stage 2 restriction bans smoking outside, charcoal grills, open flames and fireworks. There are absolutely no campfires of any kind allowed anywhere in the county or federal forestlands. That even includes campfires in developed campgrounds and picnic areas.  If you smoke, it must be indoors or inside a car because there is no smoking of any kind allowed outdoors during this fire ban.  We are urging all visitors to please respect the fire ban and be careful during your visit. Tomorrow, head to the top of Dercum Mountain to watch the grammy-award winning band, The Okee Dokee Brothers, live in concert at Keystone.  On Tuesday, head to Lakeside Village for a day of fun with a family fun day!  Catch a fish in the Fishing Derby, fly a kite, listen to music, do arts and crafts and eat, eat, eat at the barbecue!  Rent a stand-up paddle board or a kayak and explore the lake.  The activities close out on Wednesday morning with the annual 4th of July bike parade! Cruise down to River Run Village on your bike and have fun decorating it and then riding through the village in the parade.  We hope you all have a safe and happy Independence Day!
