How Do I Get to Keystone? Shuttle or Rental Car?

Transportation to your mountain vacation is just as important to plan as your lodging and activities. It is important to know your choices and how to decide on which form of transportation will work best for you, based on things like what activities you are planning and where your lodging is located. There are three major choices, the first of which is driving your own car, but often that choice is out of the question for guests flying in from other states. The other two options are renting a car or taking a shuttle from the airport.

Taking a Shuttle One of the easiest options for getting to Keystone from the airport is taking a pre-arranged shuttle. Want a hassle-free, relaxing trip to Keystone? Take a shuttle! Many of the shuttles now have complimentary wifi as a part of the journey and often the little ones can don wireless headsets and watch a movie from the in-shuttle tv. Check out SummitExpress online. Ask your reservation agent about our discounted rates with SummitExpress!

Many of our properties are conveniently located in the River Run Village or near the Mountain House base area with quick access to the mountain and shops and restaurants. Further, Keystone has a fast and easy resort-wide shuttle system that will allow guests to get from almost any property to the base areas without driving. Even some of our private homes are near shuttle stops! If you aren't sure where your property is in Keystone, don't hesitate to ask one of our knowledgeable reservation agents if you are nearby a shuttle stop.

Arrange your ski and board rentals through Ski Butlers and your groceries through Peak Provisions and your gear and meals will be waiting for you when you arrive! There is no easier way to travel!

Renting a Car If you are planning a few day trips to Breckenridge, A-Basin or nearby Copper Mountain, a rental car might be the option for you. Even though Keystone has a convenient, free resort shuttle system throughout the resort area, a vehicle will enable you to make that shopping trip to the Silverthorne Outlet Mall or check out the tubing hill at the Frisco Adventure Park.

We will always suggest renting a 4-wheel drive vehicle for your ski/ride vacation. Although you can get to Keystone with a 2-wheel drive vehicle, many parking lots are icy and the roads are often snow-packed, making travel difficult and dangerous. There are often traction laws in effect that require 4 wheel drive or tire traction.

With a little knowledge and planning, traveling to Keystone can be a breeze.  Take advantage of our guest discounts and be sure to reserve your transportation in advance. Safe travels!
