Skiing and Riding Continue in Summit County with Copper Sunsation

Keystone Resort’s neighbor, Copper Mountain Resort will host its closing weekend festivities in mid-April, and skiers and snowboarders can still make plans for more time on the slopes of Summit County.  Just a short drive away from SummitCove properties, winter fun will continue after Keystone’s closing date of Sunday, April 8th.

On Saturday, April 14th, Copper Mountain will introduce its first ever CopperMan event.  The race includes different themes (80’s, Superhero, Lumberjack, and Beach Bum) and a frozen obstacle course.  Live music will begin at 11:30 am on the Red Bull Tour Bus, featuring DJ Bedz, Lez Zeppelin, and The Spazmatics.  Then, Sunday, April 15th, join in on the inaugural SlopeSoakers Floating Rail Jam event.  Located at Jill’s deck at Woodward at Copper, there will be a pond with a rail floating on inner tubes.  This is a creative spin on the traditional pond skim.  Registration opens at 11am, with the competition beginning at noon.  Live Music will continue on the Red Bull Tour Bust at 2 pm with Michal Minter and Pato Banton and the Now Generation.

Neighboring resorts including Breckenridge, Copper and Arapahoe Basin will remain open in April, but be sure to check with each ski area for details on terrain and dates and times of operation.  SummitCove is proud to offer discount lodging for the remainder of Summit County’s ski season!
