Ski season is coming to an end, with closing day on April 8. Keystone is pulling out all the stops and planning on an action packed weekend to close out with a bang! Check out what’s happening closing weekend:
Saturday Night Fireworks The last fireworks of ski season, happening on Saturday, April 7! The show starts at 8pm, launching up from mid-mountain. You can see them from River Run and Mountain House Villages!
Mike Love with Project 432 After the fireworks, head to Warren Station for some live music! Hawaiian native, performer and master songwriter, Mike Love will be headlining at Keystone’s Warren Station on Saturday, April 7. Opening is Project 432, a Denver based band that brings a unique hip hop funk style of music to the stage. Advanced tickets for the evening start at $18 online or $22 day of show at the door if still available. The doors open at 7:30 and music begins at 8 – don’t miss the last concert of the ski season at Keystone!
The Keystone Slush Cup This event is a total blast to both participate in or attend. The Keystone Slush Cup asks BRAVE skiers and snowboarders to dress up in a costume, speed down a hill and attempt to cross a huge pool of ice cold water! Awards will be given for categories like Best Crash, Best Splash, Best Costume and Best Overall! Registration is just $35 or the event is free to attend and watch! There will be a DJ on site and bbq food for purchase! Here is the schedule events for the Keystone Slush Cup on closing day, April 8.

Want to change up your Mardi Gras plans? Come out to Keystone to ski and enter in a Gumbo Cook Off at Warren Station or just enjoy unlimited Gumbo tastings and an afternoon of fun. Listen to a free band, Charles Daniels and the Kings while you take part in the Gumbo Cookoff. Enjoy all things Mardi Gras at Keystone Resort this year on February 13! Don’t worry you can bring your kids too, this is a family friendly event!
For adults, tickets are just $12 in advance, $15 at the gate and will get you unlimited tastes and once you have given them all a try, be sure to cast your vote for People’s Choice! Want to bring the kids along? New this year, kid’s tickets are $5 in advance and $8 at the gate. Kids will get their own kids choice ticket for their favorite gumbo and a free kids beignet!
Want to participate in the cook off and show off you Gumbo making skills or secret family recipe? You could win some great prizes and there are no entry fees! Participation is open to anyone who thinks their Gumbo can win! All participants will be provided with a tent, two tables, linens, tasting cups, spoons and napkins. 1st and 2nd Place will be awarded in the following categories: Seafood/Exotic and Chicken & Sausage. 1st and 2nd place in each of these categories will be awarded by the Judges Panel and then a People’s Choice Award will be determined by the guests. They will also be giving out a Team Spirit award this year, so be sure to deck your booth out and put on your best costume for the chance to win!
Year 7 of the Keystone Winter Bluegrass Weekend brings one of the best lineups yet! This fun weekend of music at Keystone Ski Resort gives you the chance to roll up your sleeves, let loose and get into the groove with 2 nights of music from some great string bands! Most of the bands are Colorado based, and the headlining bands, Tenth Mountain Division and Chain Station, are too, from Boulder and Denver respectively. There really is something for everyone in this lineup. Music starts at 7 pm on both nights!

You can purchase tickets for single nights or attend both nights. Single nights at running at $15 in advance online or you can save $5 when you attend both nights for just $25. A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to the Dercum Center for the Arts and Humanities, you can learn more about the beneficiary by visiting www.dercumcenter.com. Warren Station Events Center is located in Keystone’s River Run Village, within walking distance of many different condo buildings and vacation rentals. Jack Pine Lodge,Silver Mill and The Springs are all popular choices for those who want to be super close to the venue! Make a weekend out of it and enjoy a nice day on the ski slopes, followed by an evening of live bluegrass music! See you there!
There are so many fun things to do while staying here at Keystone Resort for your New Year’s Eve Celebrations. There are activities and events happening for all ages. For kids, there is face painting, arts and crafts, a scavenger hunt, family cookie decorating and Riperoo’s Village Parade. There will be fireworks on both Saturday and Sunday nights in Keystone! Make a reservation to go snow tubing or head up the mountain and explore the snow fort! Hike out to the hills for snowshoeing or hit the mountain for a fun day on the ski slopes. Enjoy a nice New Year’s Eve dinner in River Run or at one of the fine dining hotspots, such as Der Fondue Chessel, Snake River Saloon, Ski Tip Ranch or Alpenglow Stube. After dinner, head out for one of the great New Year’s Events. Need a babysitter? Call Resort Sitters and they will come to you and can watch your children at your vacation rental condo.

For the adults there are some great places that have bands to rock in the New Year and get dancing.
The main New Year’s Eve Concert is happening at Warren Station! Opener Meadow Mountain will be kicking things off from 9–10 p.m. and the headliner, Trout Steak Revival comes on from10:15 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. with a brief intermission. Save $5 per person by purchasing your tickets online in advance at WarrenStation.com. The ballroom will be standing room only with all ages welcome. Historically, the New Year’s concert has sold out. Doors open at 8:30 pm and the music starts at 9 p.m. Free party favors while supplies last and champagne will be available for purchase!
The Goat Soup and Whiskey in Mountain House has a New Years Eve Ball with Michael Hornbuckle band and Dewey Paul band. Doors open at 8pm with a $15 cover charge or $12 if you purchase in advance.
Snake River Saloon: The 5-piece, local Summit County groove, soul, rock group – Zuma Road will be playing with a free cover and free champagne toast at midnight.
The Kickapoo Tavern might not have a band, but they have great drinks and a fun atmosphere for those who would like something a little more laid back. They will be giving out free champagne at midnight. Visit them in River Run Village.
Looking to explore outside of Keystone and try a some of the local favorite places?
Baker’s Brewery in Silverthorne is hosting Grown Ass Man Band starting at 5pm till 1am. Free of charge. Try some feature barrel aged brew’s, also, toast at midnight with some free champagne and dance the night away.
DAM Brewery in Dillon is hosting Band the Love Electric. $10 cover at the door. Free party favors and free champagne toast at midnight
Broken Compass in Breckenridge is having a Sequins and Sorels New Years Eve Party with special guest Sneezy, starting at 7 pm and they will be tapping a special New Year’s Eve Beer at midnight.

Keller Williams and His Compadres are coming back to Keystone Resort, Colorado on December 20 & 21, 2013! In December of 2012, Keller threw an amazing ‘End of the World’ party here in Keystone and it was such a fun celebration that he has decided to come back to perform again this year! Williams’ special guest Compadres include Michael Kang and Michael Travis of The String Cheese Incident at the Friday evening show and Vince Herman and Drew Emmitt of Leftover Salmon during Saturday night’s performance.
Keller Williams is known for his ‘one-man band’ type of performances, looping sounds together using a delay system to imitate the sounds of a full band. His improvisational skills and unique style of performing bring an exciting show that you will not want to miss! Both nights at Warren Station will feature one set of his solo act and an additional group set in which Keller jams with his Compadres of the evening.
Saturdays at the Station are back again, just in time for Spring Break in Keystone, featuring live music at River Run’s Warren Station on Saturday nights in March. Next week kicks off with the fun bluegrass band, Mountain Standard Time. This band features an eclectic mix of instruments including guitar, mandolin, and banjo and they bring a live energy to the stage that will make you want to move your feet!
The show is just $8 in advance or $10 at the bar and the music starts at 9pm. Warren Station is in the heart of River Run Village and features a full bar and dance floor. The National Repertory Orchestra will present a performance by concert pianist Jon Kimura “Jackie” Parker who will perform with his wife, violist Aloysia Friedmann. The concert takes place Saturday, September 10th at 5 pm at the Keystone Lodge and Spa Grand Ballroom.
They will present a program featuring pieces from Beethoven’s “Spring” Sonata and Grieg’s “Notturno” to the 18th Variation from Rachmaninoff’s “Paganini Rhapsody.” Expect a tango, a samba, and a breathtaking performance of the Finale from Beethoven’s “Appassionata” Sonata.
