Keystone Winter Workouts #2: Keystone Gulch Road

If you have ever been back to the Keystone Ranch Golf Course or restaurant, you probably drove by this locals favorite hiking, camping and four-wheeling spot; known as Keystone Gulch Road.

You will find the trail head just off of Soda Ridge Road

A service road in the summer and great snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trail in the winter. Gulch Road winds 6.6 miles all the way up to the North Peak of Keystone. You can opt to walk the road itself or off to the right of the trailhead, is a foot-path that weaves along through the woods. The beauty of this trail is that it is a great work out. It gradually inclines for over six miles until you get to North Peak base area. If you are looking for an even longer outing, you can stay on the Gulch Road and hike all the way out to Outback Peak base area.

North Peak

Another cool thing about this road is that there are a ton of beautiful creeks and beaver dams to admire. In fact just past the trailhead off to the right are several beaver ponds, that are a popular “beaver prowling” spot. So be sure to bring your camera  and for more information about this hike click here!
