On Saturday, August 31, 2019 the Das Bier Burner 5K kicks off Keystone Oktoberfest with a fun and scenic 5K run that starts and finishes in the heart of Keystone at the entrance to River Run Village. You’ll head down the bike path towards East Keystone, through the Settler’s Creek neighborhood, next the the river and back towards River Run. Enjoy the mountain views and crisp mountain air and wrap up the race through the village with spectators cheering you to the finish and keep going strong, because a brat and delicious cold beer await after the race! This event is family friendly and all ages are encouraged! Every runner will receive a commemorative event t-shirt and goody bag, as well as a brat and a beer (for those of legal age) after the race at Keystone Oktoberfest. Be sure to dress in costume because after the race is the costume contest!
Following the costume contest and awards ceremony, runners and spectators can continue the party at Oktoberfest. Get your fill on german beers and cuisine while you enjoy the mountain sunshine and live music and polka dancing! Watch amazing performances from the Bavarian Schuhplattlers and kids can take part in free polka dancing lessons! For the strong ones, join the Stein Hoisting Contest to see who can hold a full beer stein up the longest! Same-day registration for the race will be going on in River Run Village this morning from 8:15 am until 11:15 am, with the race starting at noon. A portion of the proceeds of this event supports the SOS Outreach of Summit County. The course is fairly flat and follows the paved Keystone bike path for most of the route, heading towards East Keystone, through Settler’s Creek and back towards the village along the Snake River. Not planning on running? Head to the village anyways and grab a cowbell to cheer on the runners starting around 12:15. There will also be plenty of kids activities taking place and this event is free to attend, with the option to purchase food and drink.

The Das Bier Burner 5K is in its 4th year and is put on by your favorite property management and vacation rental company, SummitCove! Portions of the proceeds of this event go to support our long-time charity partner, the SOS Outreach. The SOS Outreach provides opportunities for underprivileged youth to gain life experiences through adventure programs and mentoring. You’ll see some of the SOS kids out on the course on race day cheering you on and acting as some of our course marshalls.
The race starts right in the heart of Keystone’s River Run Village, at the entrance, near the Montezuma parking lot. You’ll find that the atmosphere is fun and relaxed and not too competitive! We have kids and adults, young and old, from all athletic abilities come out to participate in the event. Walking or running, some pushing a stroller, making their way to the finish line to ‘EARN’ their complimentary brat from New Moon Cafe and New Belgium beer that is provided after the race at Keystone Oktoberfest! Each runner also receives a commemorative event t-shirt and goody bag with their check-in packet.
Costumes are HIGHLY encouraged for this event and we have seen some great ones over the years. Lederhosen and Dirndls are very popular, as well as anything with a beer theme! Live music starts with the Summit Concert Band and then rolls into Those Austrian Guys as the highlight of the day! This is a family-friendly event and there will be plenty of kids activities available as well, such as face painting and a bounce castle! Finally on Sunday, top off the weekend at A Taste of Keystone. This foodie event happens around the lake in Lakeside Village, offering food samples from some of Keystone’s best chefs and restaurants. Stroll around the lake and take in the great views as you fill up your belly on great food!

The 4th annual Das Bier Burner 5K is scheduled for Saturday, September 2, 2017 in Keystone. This fun ‘beer’ run features a smooth course over rolling hills, mostly on a paved bike path, starting and finishing in Keystone’s River Run Village.
Runners will enjoy the serene setting and great mountain views throughout the race! All ages are welcome and this event is family-friendly; you can even push a stroller if you want to run with your little ones! Every runner receives a reusable goody bag and t-shirt at check-in, as well as a free brat and a beer (for those over 21+) after the race! Come up early on Friday night to get a good night’s rest and check-in early from 1 – 8 pm at the SummitCove check-in office. All registered runners receive 35% off weekend lodging with SummitCove. If you can’t make it on Friday, get checked in for the race near the River Run Village entrance on Ida Belle drive from 8:45 – 11:30 am on Saturday morning. This event supports charity partner, the SOS Outreach. This non-profit organization works with underprivileged youth, ages 8 – 18, to promote growth, skills and personal development through outdoor sports programs such as skiing, mountain biking and climbing. A portion of the proceeds of this event go directly to the Summit County SOS Outreach group. You will see some of their kids out on the course on race day cheering you on!
The race starts at 12pm with a mass start and heads out towards East Keystone down Montezuma road. Soon the course heads south, up and around Settler’s Creek Townhomes and down near the Snake River. Runners will kick it into high gear as they pass by the gondola and head into the finish, lapping around River Run as they are cheered on by the SummitCove Yeti and other fans armed with lots of cowbells!
This event is nothing but fun for everyone involved! Costumes are highly encouraged, whether it’s your Yeti suit, lederhosen or dirndls! A ‘Best Costume’ prize will be awarded during the prize ceremony. Whether you enjoy a leisurely jog, fast-paced walk or are obsessed with coming in the top 10, this race is for you. THE BLUE RIBBON BACON TOUR

This year you can enjoy a full day of activities and live music throughout Keystone for your 4th of July celebrations! The morning is packed full of fun events for kids with a fishing derby starting at 8am, Super Slimy Science at 9am, a bike decorating party at 10am, followed by the Children’s Bike Parade at 11am! Head over to Lakeside Village and rent a paddle boat or try stand-up paddleboarding! Check out live music from Trout Steak Revival, performing from Noon – 3pm at the Lakeside Village, while BBQ is available À la carte at Edgewater Cafe. WINE AND JAZZ FESTIVAL
The Keystone Jazz and Wine Festival returns again on July 18 – 19. Sample a variety of wines from a selection of over 300! BLUEGRASS & BEER FESTIVAL
The perfect combination for a summer festival… sunshine, beer, homecookin’ and of course bluegrass! Keystone’s Beer and Bluegrass Festival will be held August 1 – 2. Bluegrass begins at noon both days, with beer sampling being held from 1 – 5pm each day. Taste delicious brews from over 25 breweries and get down to some great live bluegrass. This is one of Keystone’s most popular summer festivals and once you attend, you’ll know why! 3 different stages will host bands such as the Steep Canyon Rangers, Cornmeal, Ragged Union, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades and more.
