Head for the Hills This Weekend in Keystone

Spring in the high country is a great time to visit, with beautiful weather, fun events, and tons of great live music! If you are looking for some local Colorado music to liven up your weekend, look no further than Head for the Hills, performing at Warren Station Center for the Arts this Saturday, March 12th in Keystone’s River Run Village. Described as the ‘epitome of Colorado Bluegrass’, this band brings a modern twist to the genre.  They were tagged ‘Best in Colorado Bluegrass’ by the Westword Showcase Reader’s Poll. This is not the band’s first visit to Keystone, they performed an incredible New Year’s Eve show to ring in 2015 and they are back for more good times here in 2016! Locals and visitors alike will enjoy a fun night of great music and dancing.  Free parking for the event is available in the Montezuma Skier Parking lot just near the venue.

Head for the Hills performs a mixture of original songs and popular covers sure to please all audiences. They are self described as “Pop-infused newgrass murder ballads and urbane lyricism.” Their latest album is a combination of “bluegrass, jazz, hip-hop and indie rock into songs inspired by love and misery and comic books.” You won’t want to miss this fun performance! Doors open at 8pm and the show starts at 9pm, at Warren Station, in River Run in Keystone. Tickets are $15 in advance, or $18 the day of if they are still available. Keystone brings the wonders of Appalachia to the Rockies with the Bluegrass and Beer Festival, back for it’s 16th year at Keystone Resort.  This is hands down the most popular summer festival in Keystone and it draws visitors from far and wide, year after year.  Nothing beats the down-home cooking, frothy flavors, mountain music and spectacular views- not to mention its the perfect escape from the hot summer heat. Festival goers are in for a treat, enjoying live bluegrass music all weekend along with sampling delicious beers from over 30 microbreweries from Colorado and beyond as they showcase their unique blends of hops and barleys. Live music rocks out on 3 stages. Confirmed 2012 music line-up includes Head for the Hills, Oakhurst, the Farewell Drifters, Darrell Scott, Tim O’Brien, Casey Driessen, Haunted Wind Chimes, Henhouse Prowlers, Dead Winter Carpenters, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, Town Mountain, Jeff Scroggins & Colorado, the Grinz and more. There are also some after-party events scheduled at Warren Station on both Friday and Saturday nights.
