Ice Skating Outdoors Around a Larger Than Life Holiday Tree Keystone is home to 2 outdoor skating rinks, in River Run and Lakeside Village. Head to Keystone Lake at Lakeside Village and enjoy the largest Zamboni maintained outdoor skating rink in the country, while you dance around the huge holiday tree in the center of the rink.
Exploring The World’s Largest Snow Fort Keystone Kidtopia creates the world’s largest snow fort every year at the top of Dercum Mountain. Kids and adults can explore, play hide and seek and have snowball fights and more inside this fun snow fort!
Watching Fireworks Light Up the Mountain Every Saturday night, at 7 pm, look to the mountain to see a wonderful display of fireworks lighting up the skies over River Run.
Seeing 7,000 Pounds of Chocolate Transformed into a Magical Village The Chocolate Village at the Keystone Lodge & Spa is an annual tradition that gets better every year! Over 7,000 pounds of various types of chocolate are used to create this mini village that includes unbelievable features like a chocolate waterfall, working chocolate gondola and a rotating 6 foot chocolate Christmas tree! This is a must see for any visit to Keystone during the holidays!
Visiting Santa and His Reindeer Santa loves Keystone and visits multiple times over the holidays with his reindeer. Kids can even enjoy a pancake breakfast with him!
If you are looking for a fun way to finish your holiday shopping, there are a few local holiday markets coming up in Summit County that offer entertainment and drinks in addition to shopping.
Tomorrow, checkout Crafts & Cocktails holiday event at the Breckenridge Distillery, happening from 11 am – 6 pm. This fun event features local artisans selling handmade goods including ceramics, jewelry, clothing, hats, candles, signs, ornaments and more. Enjoy a holiday cocktail while you shop. Some of the day’s proceeds will benefit the Adopt an Angel program, so you are not only supporting local artists, you are helping local families too with every purchase!
Next weekend in Keystone, be sure to visit B.L.A.M. (Beer, Local Art and Music) at Keystone’s Warren Station in River Run Village from 5 – 9 pm. You’ll get to enjoy live music from The Frisco Funk Collective while perusing local art and handmade goods from local artists. There are even custom skis and snowboards on hand!

B.L.A.M. (Beer, Local Art & Music!) This fun holiday event kicks off at 5pm at Warren Station on Saturday, December 15. Local artists will be displaying and selling a variety of work including photography, jewelry, painting, woodwork, glass, custom skis and boards and more. Drink specials from New Belgium Brewery will be available and Summit County’s top funk band, The Frisco Funk Collective will be there bringing the tunes! Local singer / songwriter Glenda Luck will also be there as the opening act.

Don’t miss this fun holiday event at Keystone in River Run Village!
The Chocolate Village at Keystone Resort is a long-time holiday tradition in the mountains! The mini village is a must-see for any holiday visit at Keystone.
What’s so great about it? Well, this village is made completely out of 100% chocolate! Over 7,000 pounds of various types of chocolate are used to create this impressive scene. The village changes some from year to year and always features a new element! You’ll see a working gondola, a running train, a chocolate waterfall, a forest of chocolate trees, chocolate mountains and more! This display is one of the coolest things you’ll see this holiday season.
The chocolate village is open 24 hours a day, though after midnight, all of the features may not be running. If you are heading to Lakeside Village to do some ice skating or even for a nice dinner at the Bighorn Bistro, be sure to stop into the Lodge to see the infamous chocolate village! But be warned – you aren’t allowed to eat this display, as tempting as it may be!
For an extra-special experience, visit the Chocolate Village and say hi to Santa at the same time! Santa will be at the Keystone Lodge and Spa for a number of different dates and times!

Wednesday, December 20 Santa will be visiting the Kidtopia Headquarters at Expedition Station from 2 – 4 pm. He then will fly his sleigh over to the Keystone Lodge & Spa and be available from 5 – 7 pm. While you’re there be sure to check out the Chocolate Village!
Friday, December 22 Head over to the Keystone Lodge & Spa anytime in the afternoon from 3 – 7 pm to say hi to Santa!
Saturday, December 23 Santa will be posted up inside at the Kidtopia Headquarters from 12:30 – 3 pm. He then joins Ripperoo in the afternoon Kidtopia Parade and will be in River Run Village from 4 – 7 pm.
Sunday, December 24 Bighorn Bistro: Breakfast with Santa Join Santa for a special breakfast at the Bighorn Bistro in the Keystone Lodge! Cost is $24.95 for adults and $12.95 for children ages 6 – 12, children 5 or under are free! Breakfast reservations are available from 7 – 11 am, and Santa will be there visiting from 8 am – 10 am. He then heads up on the mountain for some outside fun at the Kidtopia Snowfort! See him there and say hi from 11:30 am – 1 pm.
In addition to the numerous opportunities to meet Santa, there are tons of other special holiday activities and events coming up at Keystone. Stroll through Lakeside or River Run Village and see the amazing ice sculptures, like a full size sleigh with reindeer! Sit by the fire pit in River Run as you enjoy the holiday lights from the huge holiday tree! Book a reservation out on the tubing hill or take the family ice skating.
