Closing Weekend Events at Keystone Resort

Ski season is coming to an end, with closing day on April 8.  Keystone is pulling out all the stops and planning on an action packed weekend to close out with a bang! Check out what’s happening closing weekend:


Saturday Night Fireworks
The last fireworks of ski season, happening on Saturday, April 7! The show starts at 8pm, launching up from mid-mountain.  You can see them from River Run and Mountain House Villages!


Mike Love with Project 432 
After the fireworks, head to Warren Station for some live music! Hawaiian native, performer and master songwriter, Mike Love will be headlining at Keystone’s Warren Station on Saturday, April 7.  Opening is Project 432, a Denver based band that brings a unique hip hop funk style of music to the stage.  Advanced tickets for the evening start at $18 online or $22 day of show at the door if still available.  The doors open at 7:30 and music begins at 8 – don’t miss the last concert of the ski season at Keystone!


The Keystone Slush Cup
This event is a total blast to both participate in or attend.  The Keystone Slush Cup asks BRAVE skiers and snowboarders to dress up in a costume, speed down a hill and attempt to cross a huge pool of ice cold water!  Awards will be given for categories like Best Crash, Best Splash, Best Costume and Best Overall!  Registration is just $35 or the event is free to attend and watch!  There will be a DJ on site and bbq food for purchase!  Here is the schedule events for the Keystone Slush Cup on closing day, April 8.

8 am – 10 am | In-Person Registration & Check-In
10 am – 12:30 pm | Enjoy the sunshine and spring skiing!
12:30 pm | Participants must return for Safety talk and Judges message
1 pm – 3 pm | Slush Cup: Adults & Kids Pond Skimming!
3 pm | Winners announced!

Arapahoe Basin Offers Skiing, Riding and Fun Events in April and May

The ski and snowboard season at Keystone Resort is drawing to a close this weekend, but there is plenty to do at nearby Arapahoe Basin in April and May while waiting for Keystone to ramp up for its summer festivals!

Arapahoe Basin will feature its Live Music Friday performances.  The next show will take place on Friday, April 13th at the 6th Alley Bar from 2:30 to 5:30.  Other shows will follow on April 20th and April 27th.

On Wednesday, April 18th, the 23rd Annual Enduro will take place.  Skiers and riders who participate in this endurance race will take the Pali chair from 7 am to 5 pm continuously without stopping.  The record to beat is 71 runs!

Look for the Moonlight Dinner Series to continue at the Black Mountain Lodge.  This Saturday, April 7th the theme is A Night in Spain.  On Saturday, May 5th, the dinner series will feature A Night in Asia theme.  Best of all, you can snowshoe, hike or take the chairlift.

Saturday, April 21st, A-Basin will host the 10th Annual Spyder Grind, which is an uphill/downhill adventure race designed to introduce new participants to back country skiing and to challenge veteran skiers.  Contact Arapahoe Basin for registration information.

Keystone Season End Lodging Deals and Closing Weekend Activities!

The 2011/2012 Ski Season is nearing its closing date of April 8th.  If you are still considering one last trip, or you have plans to hit Arapahoe Basin in April, there are some great deals to be had!

Celebrate Spring Break at Keystone With Free Nights of Lodging!

Keystone Resort has great ski and snowboard conditions, and plenty of Spring Break events lined up.  For anyone who is taking a late March or early April spring break ski trip, there will also be savings!  SummitCove is offering a late season special that gives guests who book 3 nights of lodging in select properties a 4th night free.  Guests that book  5 nights will receive a 6th and 7th night for free.   The special will run from Sunday, March 25th through April 25th.  Though Keystone Resort is scheduled to close on April 8th, Arapahoe Basin is located just minutes from Keystone and will stay open until the snow melts.  Last year, that was July 4th, so there is still plenty of time to ski this season!
