Popular musician, Keller Williams is throwing an ‘End of the World’ celebration right here in Keystone for 2 nights on December 21 & 22. Williams is known as a ‘master of acoustic guitar’ and has teamed up with many different artists over the years since his first album back in 1994.

A-Basin is working on their beginner learning area and will be adding another conveyor magic carpet lift to their mix, called the Pika Place. The lift is being installed Southeast of the bottom of the Black Mountain Express, within the teaching area that is designed for small children. The lift will be fairly short with a very gentle slope. This new lift is aimed at helping the smaller kids catch on easier, speeding up the teaching progression and making it more fun. Installation is set for early October.
Although Arapahoe Basin is known for its steeper slopes, it is still a great mountain for beginners to learn. Arapahoe Basin offers both half-day and full-day lessons, as well as multi-day programs for kids of all ages. . (and adults!) Their Snowsports School creates a fun learning environment for kids of all abilities to develop their skills. Choose from private lessons, group classes, or one of their many multi-week clubs where kids can learn skills and make friends, being in the same group each week. They even have a mini-park designed just for kids! The layout of A-Basin is also family friendly, with all the runs on the front side funneling down to a central base area. The Molly Hogan lift is a gentle and easy place to learn, and its easy to avoid crowds. There are plenty of easy greens and blue groomer runs to practice on.

One of our private homes has been undergoing construction all summer long. North Fork Lodge #577 is a 5 bedroom, 4.5 bath private home in the River Run Village area. The home features some awesome amenities, perfect for your family ski vacation, including a state of the art gourmet kitchen, private hot tub, multiple patios, a heated garage and incredible views. It is even within walking distance to the ski slopes and shops and restaurants within River Run Village. The property was recently sold to a new owner who has decided to put some work into it and make it one of the most exquisite private homes available for rental in the Keystone Area.
Construction has been happening all summer long and we recently got a sneak peek inside the house, which is set to be complete hopefully in early November or sooner! The home is getting new flooring throughout, including beautiful wood floors upstairs and brand new tile downstairs. New bedding will be featured in all of the five bedrooms. The entire property will be getting fresh paint, new decor and brand new furnishings. The hot tub on the back patio is being replaced. In the kitchen, the granite counter top will be extended, to provide extra seating at a breakfast bar. The huge exposed wooden beams are being refinished and are looking great! Stay tuned for final photos once the remodel is complete. Although the property is under construction, we are still taking reservations for the upcoming winter ski season, when it will be a whole new place. . . and don’t worry, we will clean up the dust before then! As the saying goes, 2 is always better than 1! Arapahoe Basin is doubling up the deals this year by offering the ‘Double Down 2-Season Pass’ this year for the first time. Pass holders can enjoy not 1, but 2 seasons of skiing or riding at the resort that rests on top of the continental divide. One the biggest reasons this pass is such a great deal is the fact that Arapahoe Basin has one of the longest seasons around, with an average season running at about 233 days. The resort typically opens in early to mid- October and often staying open as late as June or even early July, depending on the winter’s snowfall. In 2011, the resort celebrating its closing weekend on July 4th! Arapahoe Basin is just a few miles up the road from Keystone, making this pass a great option for those visiting Keystone and looking for a great deal on discount lift tickets or who want to experience another mountain. Buying a season pass instead of single-day lift tickets usually pays off after just a few days of skiing. This particular pass will have you covered for the next two winters!
The pass offers unlimited and completely unrestricted access for both the 12/13 and 13/14 ski seasons. There is a free shuttle that runs hourly from Keystone to A-Basin during the winter, making the short commute easy and painless. A few of the leaves in Summit County have already started changing colors, meaning Fall is on it’s way.. and even better, that Winter will be here before we know it! Fall is an incredible time to visit Keystone; the summer crowds have dwindled and it feels as if you have the whole resort to yourself.
