Take a Day Trip to Dillon to During your Keystone Vacation!

The Town of Dillon, Colorado is a close neighbor to Keystone Resort, and many of our summer guests enjoy making a day trip to visit.    Just a quick drive of a few miles from Keystone, Dillon offers some great opportunities for outdoor adventure as well as a lot of fun events and activities.  From a ride on the Lake Dillon Water Taxi to a visit to the Friday Farmer's Market, there are plenty of options when planning out ways to spend your time in Dillon.  We've listed some of our favorite activities below:

Visit Lake Dillon for boating, sailing, and fishing!  Keep in mind that there is no water contact allowed in the lake, including swimming, scuba diving, water skiing and other related activities.  If you plan to fish, all parties over the age of 15 need to have a fishing license.  Note that the Lake Dillon Marina does not sell licenses.   Be sure to visit the Dillon Marina, where you can also rent a boat for a 2, 3, or hour hour period or take sailing lessons.   If you enjoy sailing, you can plan your vacation to coincide with one of several Regattas during the summer.  For those who want to learn more about the area, take an EXPLORE Lake Dillon Boat Tour from the Summit Historical Society on a pontoon boat.  Call 970.468.5100 for pricing and reservations.

Try the Lake Dillon Water Taxi for a fun trip with your family or friends.  You can board in Dillon, or at the Frisco Marina.  Fares will depend upon whether you plan to take a one-way trip or go round-trip.  Adult tickets (ages 12 and up)  are $10 one-way, and $19 round-trip.  Children from ages 3 to 11 require a ticket, priced at $8 one-way or $16 round-trip.  The good news is that children 2 and under and dogs (with just a few rules) are FREE!  You can also bring a bike for $1 one way or $2 round-trip.  This gives you the perfect opportunity to ride the rec path and then take a relaxing boat ride.  Be sure to visit the Island Grill or the Dillon Marina's Lakeside Tiki Bar.

The Friday Farmer's Market takes place on Buffalo Street off of Lake Dillon Drive, right downtown from 9am to 2pm.  Enjoy handcrafted, homemade, and freshly grown products at one of the best farmers markets in Summit County.  Enjoy live entertainment from 10:30 to 1 pm.

You can top off a perfect day in Dillon at the Friday Night Concert Series, located at the Dillon Amphitheater at 7pm.   Enjoy a variety of music from a different act each week through September 7th.  The Sunset at the Summit Concerts will take place on Saturdays through September 1st at 7pm.  With a variety of styles from jazz to rock, there is something for everyone.

At SummitCove, we are offering some huge summer savings in the month of July to help our guests escape the heat and enjoy all that Keystone and Summit County have to offer at this time of the year.
