Travel Information

Keystone is easily accessible from Denver and Denver International Airport.  It takes approximately 1 hour 30 Minutes to drive from DIA to Keystone. The main access point is Interstate 70 through the foothills and mountains of Colorado.  On your way to Keystone Ski Resort, you will travel over the Continental Divide, the highest ridge line in North America.

During the Summer months, there might be a little road construction, but I-70 is typically clear. If you are headed westbound on a Friday afternoon, you might want to plan for a bit of extra drive time, as Colorado residents love to escape the city for the weekend. If you head back East to Denver on a Sunday, plan for more traffic than usual. Ask your SummitCove vacation planner about Sunday night specials in order to avoid traffic altogether!  Travel through the Eisenhower Tunnel on I-70 or go over Loveland Pass to get to Keystone.  Loveland Pass offers amazing views and we recommend stopping at the top to experience the thin air. Just don’t take your eyes off of the road.

During the Winter months, Loveland Pass sometimes closes due to adverse weather.  If you are not experienced in driving in Winter conditions, we recommend staying on I-70 and  going through the town of Dillon, Colorado to get to Keystone and traveling with all-wheel drive, 4-wheel drive or snow tires. Again, Fridays headed West and Sundays traveling East will present the heaviest traffic. If you can plan to travel to Keystone on Thursday and back home on Monday, you will likely miss all of the traffic and enjoy a relaxing drive!
