Lakeside 1491

This is for Lakeside 1491. The room itself was clean and in a good location. Unlike many of their rentals, the pots and pans were in good condition and quality instead of the clapped-out scratched up Teflon pans, so thank you to the owners of this unit. But you see signs that the management side is cheap. You get a little 4-cup pouch of Folgers for the coffee pot. You have to check out at 10am instead of 11, and they ask you to clean the kitchen and take out the trash - so don’t plan on much time for breakfast before you leave. When we had a problem with a malfunctioning washing machine on our floor, they pushed us off to another management company who absolutely did not care, did not attempt to fix it, or contact us again, or refund the money for the laundry. If you have enough people for two cars, one of them is going in the paid overflow lot.

Regarding supplies, we only provide a starter pack, which is intended to help guests get settled at the beginning of their stay. For checkout, we kindly request that you start the dishwasher and take out the trash, if possible. These light departure requests help our housekeeping team prepare the unit efficiently for incoming guests. Checkout time is 10:00 AM and is consistent with the schedule required to ensure the home is ready for the next arrival. Parking availability is managed at the property level, and parking is a policy of Keystone, which we must follow, including the use of paid overflow parking when applicable. We regret the frustration you experienced with the washing machine and the handling of that issue. We understand how inconvenient that can be and appreciate you bringing it to our attention so we can review coordination with third-party service providers. I’m a single mom who saves for a long time to take my son on special vacations. Unfortunately, this stay ended in a way that caused unnecessary stress and completely overshadowed our trip. Our flight was at midnight and checkout was at 10 a.m. Late checkout was only offered until 2 p.m. for $50, which didn’t work for us, so I paid for an entire additional night. I expected a smooth and stress free departure. Communication was terrible from the start. I was placed on hold for over 20 minutes, and no one ever told me that my key would stop working or that I needed to get a new one. After leaving for a couple of hours, my son and I came back to pack, eat, and get ready for our 5 p.m. shuttle. Our key did not work. We were locked out in freezing temperatures with food, luggage to pack, and a shuttle we could not miss. I had to call multiple times, and it took over 30 minutes for someone to arrive and let us in. The stress this caused, especially with a child, was completely unnecessary. On top of this, the unit itself had multiple issues. It was extremely cold inside, and even with the heat and fireplace on, it never warmed up. There was a very loud, constant noise in the room, possibly from the heater, that made it nearly impossible to sleep. The unit also smelled musty and stale, and brown tinted water came out of the sink, which was very concerning. Despite these issues being clearly unacceptable, Summit Cove refused to accommodate us in any way. I wasn’t asking for a full refund. Just some acknowledgment or care. The manager wouldn’t even speak to me. Keystone is wonderful. Summit Cove is not. I would never stay with them again. Even some of their own workers said it’s the worst company they’ve worked for, which sadly matched my experience.
