Kids Rule at Keystone: Daily Kidtopia Events for Ski Season

If you haven't heard, kids rule at Keystone Resort! Daily Keystone Kidtopia events offer kids endless things to do during their visit.  Kids can have a snowball fight or explore the world's largest snowfort.  They can enjoy free cookies and hot chocolate, play games, learn about so many things, do arts and crafts, and more! Checkout the main events that happen every week all season long at Keystone. The best part? Most of the events are free and for all ages! The Keystone Kidtopia Headquarters is located in the main level of Expedition Station in River Run Village, near the ice rink. Note - dates and times are subject to change. Every Day:

Kidtopia Headquarters Located in River Run, Kidtopia Headquarters is open daily from 9:30 am - 3 pm. Enjoy toys, games, and more. Great for chilly days or when you want to take a break from the outside activities! Kidtopia Snowfort Starting December 16, the world's largest snowfort will be open for exploration.  Have a snowball fight or pretend you are king of the castle! Fun for all ages! Cookie Time At 4pm at Kidtopia Headquarters, get a free tasty treat from Chef Ned! ISpy Keystone Scavenger Hunt Enjoy this self-guided tour that explores the resort and starts at Kidtopia Headquarters!

Sundays:

Ripperoo's Ice Cream Party! Kids can enjoy ice cream, photo opportunities and t-shirt decorating on the 1st floor of the Mountain House Lodge on Sundays through April 1st from 3:30 - 4:30 pm. Starquest Exploration The Keystone Science School heads the exploration of our universe on Sundays at the Kidtopia Headquarters from 5 - 6:30 pm.  Highlights including learning about winter constellations, viewing celestial objects up close, and buildin a starfinder that will be theirs to take home.

Mondays:

Fireside Cocoa & Coloring Mondays from 3 - 5 pm, stop in at the Bighorn Bistro and decorate your own mug next to the fire and then fill it with hot cocoa and take it home as a souvenir! No registration required and no charge! Family Game Night In River Run Village at Kidtopia Headquarters at Expedition Station, families can join in on board games or bingo or friendly foosball from 6:30 - 8 pm.

Tuesdays:

Stretch, Bend & Wiggle: Kid's Yoga At Keystone's Lakeside Village, visit Studio K from 10:30 - 11:15 am and have some fun with a kid's yoga class. Kids will learn how to do basic yoga and incorporate yoga as part of a healthy lifestyle. Meet the Avy Dog Every Tuesday from 4 - 5 pm, Keystone's avalanche dogs will be ready to meet and greet guests as they learn about what the dog's do and how they are an asset to the team.  Meet the dogs at the Kidtopia Headquarters. Super Snowy Science Meet at Kidtopia Headquarters from 5:30 - 7 pm and learn about the science of snow.  Keystone Science School instructors lead a class teaching about types of snow crystals, layers of snow, life-cycle of snow and more.  All ages are welcome and you don't even have to register in advance, just 'snow' up!

Wednesdays:

Critters Discovery Kids (and their parents) can learn about all the different kinds of animals that call Keystone their home.  Put on by Friends of the Dillon Ranger Disctrict, this is a hands on class for everyone! Meet at River Run Kidtopia Headquarters across from the Dercum Ice Rink at 2 pm, for this hourlong class, every Wednesday through April 8. Winter Movie Matinee Curl up with a good movie every Wednesday starting at 4pm at the Kidtopia Headquarters! Movies average about an hour and a half. Here's the 2017 / 2018 Winter Film Lineup (subject to change):

Thursdays:

Old-Fashioned Tubing with Ripperoo Head over to the Keystone Nordic Center in West Keystone for some tubing.  Walk up and slide down or build a snowman, Thursdays from 2 - 3 pm. Cupcakes and Canvas Every Thursday from 5 - 6 pm, kids can explore their creative side as an art teach guides them to create a masterpiece and enjoy a cupcake! This class is $15 per person and reservations are required, call (970) 496-4386.  The class is for kids ages 3 or older and their parents and includes the canvas, all supplies, instruction and a cupcake!

Fridays:

Wacky Tacky Party! On Fridays, Kidtopia Headquarters turns up the volume with their Wacky Tack Party!  Dance music, party games, prizes and face painting and a fun craft to make and take home.  Join the party from 5 - 7 pm on Friday afternoons.

Saturdays:

Crafter-er-noon & Face Painting Be at the Keystone Kidtopia headquarters starting at 12:30 until 3 pm on Saturdays for face painting and free crafts! Ripperoo's Village Parade Join Ripperoo as he parades through the village with friends and dance performers, hop on his float! Parade starts at 4pm in River Run. River Run Fireworks To cap off a wonderful weekend in the mountains, direct your eyes to the mountains for the weekly Saturday night fireworks display! Fireworks start at 7 pm through March 10 and 8 pm for the remainder of the ski season.   Be sure to take advantage of some of these fun, kid-friendly events while you are visiting Keystone this winter.  Most events are free to attend and parents are always welcome!  Keystone is the place for kids!
