Vail Ski Resort

Vail Mountain Ski Area is just 46.5 miles from keystone. The resorts top elevation is 11,570 ft.  Vail is known for being one of the largest ski resorts in the world! Vail has about 5,289 skiable acres and you can ski a total of 3,450 vertical feet. There are seven back bowls!  So there is bound to be a little bit of something for everyone, and there are intermediate trails off every lift, so you’ll never be in a sticky situation!  Vail is also famous for it’s beautiful Aspen tree, tree runs. Weave in and out of these Colorado-native trees and experience that famous champagne powder.  

 

Vail isn’t all about skiing!  This ski resort is known for its world-class cuisine as well!  The world-renowned chef, Chef Nobu Matsuhisa has a restaurant in Vail, called Matsuhisa.  This restaurant is known for its Japanese dishes with their South American twist. Not in the mood for sushi?  Try the four star restaurant, Sweet Basil.  This swanky joint is known for its New American Fare and its modern decor.  

 

Bringing the kids along for some mountain fun?  Vail is very kid-friendly resort with many “Kid’s Adventure Zones”.  There are 14 different Adventure Zones. These are safe, kid-friendly areas for your children to ski or snowboard.  These zones are equipped with fun tunnels, turns and wide tree runs embellished with themed sculptures.  The Adventure Zones are designed to help your children gain confidence on their skis or snowboards!  Now your little ones can enjoy a world-renowned ski resort with the big kids too!

 

There is always an action-packed events calendar at Vail!  Some repeating, big events you will want to mark your calendar for are: 

Snow Daze: This events usually happens around December 11 – 13.  This is a huge early season party.  Enjoy live music in the square, $5 draft specials from 3-6pm, and $3 Bud Light bottles at the express lift from 3-6pm.  Also enjoy a free live concert at Solaris in Vail Village!

 

Holidaze:  This event is usually from December 18th-31st.  The kids will love this one!  Enjoy many outdoor family-friendly activities like ice-skating, a visit with Santa, a paper lantern workshop, free christmas cookie decorating for kids, and many more! 

 

Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships: This event takes place on February 29th-March 5th.   Come watch some of the best pro snowboarders shred!  Watch the pros get some huge air while drinking craft beer and listening to some live free music!
