So much to do over the 4th of July weekend at Keystone!
Start planning your 4th of July holiday now with a trip to the mountains. Enjoy the cool mountain weather, bright and sunny days and the millions of fun activities available at Keystone Resort this summer. There is a huge weekend of events leading up to the 4th of July Independence Day holiday here at Keystone.
Spend the weekend barbecuing with family. Take a hike on one of the many trails in the area, taking in the wildflowers and beautiful views. Book a Ride the Pass Downhill Bike Trip with Mountain View Sports for a fun activity that the whole family can enjoy. After biking, enjoy lunch at the Tiki Bar at the Dillon Marina or at one of Keystone's many restaurants on the outdoor patio.
Over the weekend, take the kids to the many events featured at the new Kidtopia signature event, 'Stars and Guitars'. Friday afternoon will offer free face painting and 'craft-er-noon' from 12:30 - 3 pm at the Kidtopia Headquarters. Follow up with the Friday Afternoon Club with free gondola rides up to the top of Dercum Mountain anytime from 1 - 7 pm. Once at the top, enjoy free live music and yard games or a quick hike or slack lining. Food and drink specials are available at the Summit House.
Saturday's schedule has some more fun for the kids with 'Super Snake River Science' workshop from 9 - 11 am at Kidtopia Headquarters. At 11am, head up the gondola with a purchased ride ticket to take part in Stretch, Bend and Wiggle Mountaintop Yoga (free with your gondola ticket). Kidtopia Kidzfest will be happening in River Run from 11 am - 3pm, with fun and free stuff like face painting, balloon artists and a bounce house. Afterwards, head to 'Camp Night' at the Adventure Center from 5 - 7 pm. The 'Stars and S'mores' event will be happening from 8:30 - 10 pm at the Keystone Lodge & Spa.
Sunday morning, wake up and take the kids to the strider bike racing! They will have a blast competing against other little ones in their age group to win prizes. Next up is the premiere event, Grammy Award-winning The Okee Dokee Brothers Mountaintop Concert happening in River Run Village from 12 - 4 pm.
Tuesday, July 3rd will be the official Independence Day Celebrations at Lakeside Village. The morning kicks off with the annual free kids fishing derby from 8 -9:30 am. There will be live music happening all day long, from 11 am - 9 pm. From 12 - 6 pm, head over to the Decatur field near the lake to play at the family fun zone. There will be face painters, a balloon artist, bounce houses and kite decorating and flying all afternoon! After dark at 9:30 pm, enjoy the fireworks display over the lake at Lakeside Village.
On the 4th, you'll want to grab your bike and head over to River Run Village for the annual bike parade, with decorating starting at 10:30 am. Supplies will be available for bike decorating, so go wild with the stars and stripes and show off your bike and pride in the parade!
