Beautiful Fall Colors in Keystone Will Be Here Soon!

Fall Season is quickly approaching and soon the hillsides in Keystone will be covered in brilliant gold and orange hues.  If you haven't experienced being in the mountains for this beautiful time of year, you might want to think about making the trip- it's well worth it!  Crisp autumn air mixed with the warm Colorado sunshine make it a great time for outdoor activities such as hiking and biking.  The two marinas on Lake Dillon usually stay open until the end of September, so why not rent a Pontoon Boat and see the colors from a different perspective- out on Lake Dillon!  Mountain View Sports also runs a great Vail Ride the Pass Bike Ride tour which is amazing at this time of year.

A great, easy and short hike that the whole family can enjoy is Sapphire Point at the top of Swan Mountain Road half way between Keystone and Breckenridge.  After a short walk, you will be engulfed in amazing views of the surrounding Summit County hillsides and majestic Lake Dillon.  Looking to the South you take in beautiful views of Breckenridge and straight ahead the rocky points of Mount Royale and prestine Buffalo Mountain.  A few of the leaves have already started to turn colors and anywhere from 1-3 weeks from now all of the Aspens will start turning the blazing, brilliant gold.  To get to Sapphire Point from Keystone, turn left on Swan Mountain Road and follow about 4.5 miles to the summit and the trailhead will be on your right.

Since the bulk of the summer visitors have came and gone, many of the restaurants offer great deals during the off-season to stir up business.  You will find that many restaurants offer 2-for-1 dinners and other great specials, be sure to look for coupons in the free Summit Daily newspaper.  SummitCove.com is also offering 2 for 1 deals on select properties! Buy 1 night, Get 1 Night free until October 20th!  Don't miss out on this beautiful time in the mountains!  The Aspens are brilliant!
