Beetlefest 2010 in Frisco

3rd Annual Beetlefest in Frisco!

The 3rd Annual Beetlefest will carve it's way on to Frisco's Main Street on September 11, 2010 from 10 am to 6 pm. This unique zany event is designed to bring education and awareness regarding the devastation caused by the mountain pine beetle. The Mountain Pine Beetles burrow into pine trees and kill them from the inside, which is a normal part of the life cycle, but when there is an outbreak and these beetles move into healthy trees, the results are devastating. As we can see in Summit County, the beetles have wiped out large amounts of the forested areas. The event will benefit the Friends of the Dillon Ranger District to help combat the beetle infestation. If you get tired from all the activity stop by the informational and artist booths to see the latest in Beetle Kill products. This event grows each year and 2010 will have some exciting new additions-check back soon to see the new elements of Bettlefest!
