Keystone and Breckenridge Announce Extending Seasons in 2019 and Beyond

Summit County has been seeing great snow to kick off 2019, with Keystone snow totaling 41 inches in the month as of 1/25/19 and 51 inches at nearby Breckenridge Ski Resort. The snow has been so good that Breckenridge recently announced they will be extending their season and staying open until Memorial Day weekend, if weather conditions allow! Skiing is expected to be open on Peak 7 for the whole time and portions of Peak 8 while the weather allows for spring skiing in Summit County.   Parent Company Vail Resorts also announced its plans to extend Keystone's season in the future, by shooting to be one of the first Colorado ski resorts to open. Historically Arapahoe Basin and Loveland Ski Resorts have been the main mountains in the race to be the first mountain open for ski season. Late last year, a capital improvement proposal was submitted to upgrade snowmaking capabilities at Keystone, which will improve their early season snow even more. Together, Keystone and Breckenridge combined will offer one of the longest ski seasons in the country.  Look for SummitCove's early season lodging deals and come out for opening day 2019!
