Keystone Colorado Culinary Festival

Keystone's Annual Winter Culinary Festival

March 4-6, 2011 in Keystone

Tickets range: $15 to $100 per event

The Winter Culinary Festival takes place in Keystone, with resort wide festivities happening all weekend. The Festival will feature multiple events throughout the weekend and allows you to enjoy award-winning cuisine from some of the greatest chefs! The events vary from wine tastings to a full-blown gastronomic experience, so buy your tickets today and follow our guide to the Festival! You can also buy a bundle to enjoy the main event and 3 different seminars.

The featured attraction of the festival is the Grand Tasting Lodge presented by 5280 & Stella Artois on Saturday March 5 from 5:30 - 9:00 PM. The event costs $100 per person to attend and reservations are required and limited to 300 people (so call now 970-496-4386). The event comes with the opportunity to sample local specialties from the different award-winning restaurants of Keystone Resort! The restaurants include Keystone Ranch, Ski Tip Lodge, Alpenglow Stube, Bighorn Steakhouse and more! It takes place at the Outpost located atop Keystone's North Peak. Dress warmly, enjoy the gondola ride and savor the delicious dishes put out by Keystone's finest!

Friday March 4th

Welcome Wine Dinner Event, 6-9 PM, $100 per person (Reservations Required)

The World Celebration of Wine Dinner begins at 6 PM at the Ski Tip Lodge in East Keystone! You will be taken on a tour around the world with six different wines and seven courses presented by Chef Kevin McCombs and Sommelier Megan Morgan! This event is limited to 50 people, so call soon to reserve your spot!

Alpenglow Stube Show Kitchen Demo, 10:30 AM, Free!

The Alpenglow Stube Show Kitchen Demo gives you a glimpse into the chefs gourmet kitchen. The chefs demonstrate one of their famous dishes and even pass out free samples of their delightful creations. The event lasts about 1 hour and is limited to 25 people on a first come, first serve basis!

Chocolate Demo, 2-4 PM, $15 per person (Reservations Required)

Executive Pastry Chef Ned Archibald will demonstrate his chocolatier skills in this private event at the Keystone Conference Center! Chef Archibald will demonstrate how to make various desserts and teach you the secrets of working with chocolate! Reservations are required and is limited to 25 people!

Unique Red Varietals and Blends, 3:30 PM, $15 (Reservations Required) March 4 & 5th!

Yet another event to take part in. This Wine Tasting at the Ski Tip Lodge features unique varietals and blends of different red wines and the event will be hosted by Sommelier Megan Morgan. Sommelier Morgan will share her knowledge about the new blends and varietals, many from unexpected regions or from unusual grape varietals. A complimentary cheese plate will be available as well, so give them a call and reserve your spot, capacity is limited to 25 people!

Martini Tasting, 5PM & 6:30 PM (Reservations Required)

Experience unique martini recipes from some of the best mixologists in Keystone! Space is limited to 20 people per sessions! This event takes place at the Black Bear Grill!

Saturday March 5th

Ice Carving Demo with Chef Steve Nguyen, 11 AM, Free!

This event takes place at the base of the River Run Gondola and is for all to see! Watch Chef Nguyen turn blocks of ice into incredible sculptures! You will fun facts about the process, lighting effects and to witness first-hand Chef Nguyen creative prowess! Head to River Run to watch art with chainsaws!

Decadent Wellness, 11:30 AM, $15 (Reservations Required)

This event is hosted by the Keystone Spa and the informative seminar discusses the benefits of wellness. You can learn stress reduction and massage techniques while indulging in the spa's specialty cuisine and wines paired perfectly! The Keystone Spa is located in the Lakeside Village and the event is limited to 30 people.

Farm to Table Seminar, 1-3 PM, $15

This great seminar discusses the community's local food sources! With everything from community gardens to raising chickens, this seminar discusses the local food system and discusses the benefits of buying locally! This event takes place at Warren Station and is limited to 50 people!

Culinary Trends Cooking Class, 2-4 PM, $15

The Colorado Mountain College Culinary Institute at Keystone Presents: Culinary Trends! This class will teach you how to blend culinary trends with Colorado products and styles to create delicious culinary creations! The class will focus on using Colorado grown and raised products for creative and inspired appetizers and entrees! Space is limited to 50 people!

Champagne Seminar, 3-5 PM, $15 (Reservations Required)

Learn from the experts about champagne with this educational seminar at the Keystone Ranch! A complimentary cheese plate will be provided with the seminar! Space is limited to 40 people and a complimentary shuttle will pick-up and drop off at 2:30 PM at the Keystone Lodge (it will also take you back after the seminar!

Sunday March 6th

Champagne Brunch, 10:30 AM, $47 (Reservations Required)

Finish off this magical weekend with a champagne brunch at the Alpenglow Stube! This fantastic feast features a choice of soup du jour, an entree and an array of magnificent desserts all  with Mimosas! Don't miss this fabulous breakfast event at one of the nation's best restaurants!

Kids in the Kitchen Cooking Class, 1-2PM, $15 per person (Reservations Required)

Camp Culinary descends on Keystone for one day in the form as a hands on cooking class just for kids and parents! Space is limited to 30 people and takes place at Warren Station!

 

The events at the Keystone Winter Culinary Festival are grand and you can spend all weekend being a gourmet!
