Ahhh, the crisp air with a touch of wind brushing across my face as I step outside on a beautiful clear morning. "Nothing compares to a morning like this in the high-country," I tell myself as I take a second to gaze upon the gleaming snow-covered caps of the distant mountains and the beautiful bright orange aspen leaves, dusted with snow. It feels as if the first snow of the season was just yesterday... Well, the first snow of the season WAS yesterday and I couldn't be more excited! Memories of mid-season powder days are beginning to flood my thoughts but this is just the beginning! The first snowstorm of the year brought 8 inches of fresh snow to Keystone, to add to the mountains of man-made snow that has been piling up over the past few weeks.

As the seasons shift and the temperatures change, Keystone is gearing up for an EPIC winter! With the first snowfall of the season underway, it's now time for everyone to start doing their snow dances and hoping for even more plentiful snowfall! Keystone Resort is already ahead of the game with this though, with snow guns ablazin' and an opening date of TOMORROW, 10/12/19! This will be their earliest opening in 20+ years and they will be one of the first few resorts to open, but not quite the first. Arapahoe Basin also announced this afternoon that they are opening TODAY! A-Basin's lifts will start turning this afternoon from 3:30 - 5:30 pm with $15 lift tickets and $5 draft beers!
Opening Day at Keystone is tons of fun! There are raffles, games, prizes and more! The first 500 guests in line will receive a FREE Keystone neck Buff and the first 100 guests in line will receive a FREE pancake breakfast at the Summit House! There will also be all sorts of great deals at on-mountain and in-village restaurants for early season.

Other fun upcoming events at Keystone include the Halloween Costume Contest on Saturday, October 26 and the Keystone Kickoff Music Series on Saturday afternoons November 2, November 9 and November 16 in River Run Village. The same Saturdays also feature the Nature Valley Bags Tournament at LaBonte's Cabin on the mountain. Register in person with your team of 4 starting at 10 am on tournament day. The fun kicks off from 11:30 - 1pm each Saturday and winners will be awarded with prizes!
