Keystone Science School came up with the winter camp idea after surveying and listening to local parents as they spoke of hardships over break in finding child care as well as keeping kids stimulated and engaged over school breaks. This is a chance for parents to drop them off at camp for a fun time instead of trying to find child care. KSS will offer potential campers with the same model from their summer camp, but instead with winter-based activities, such as snow-science and winter hiking. They will dig snow pits, learn about snow and snow stability. Other activities may include cross-country skiing, sledding, campfires, snow forts, arts and crafts, archery and more.
Keystone Science School's winter camp is happening on December 27–28, 2018 and again from January 2–4, 2019. The cost is $65 per day for day camp and $85 per day for overnight camp. For more details, visit KeystoneScienceSchool.org.
