Why I Love Staying at Quicksilver Condos for My Family Ski Vacation

As many plan their Keystone vacations, many tend to flock to River Run Village or even Mountain House to be close to the slopes and for the convenience.  While it is cool to be able to walk out the door and to the slopes, there's something to be said about staying away from the hustle and bustle AND saving money.   Last winter, after many hours of researching, weeding through a plethora of information, pouring over property photos and descriptions, trying to weigh out the options as to what would be the best place for me and my family for our upcoming ski trip, I finally decided to pick up the phone to get help.  I connected with one of SummitCove's amazing vacation planners.  After asking me a few questions and hearing out our priorities, she helped me narrow down my search and ultimately ended up recommending Quicksilver Condos in North Keystone. It was a two bedroom, two bath condo that featured 2 twin beds in the spare bedroom, perfect for my kids.   One of the biggest benefits is the obvious factor of price.  Since you are about a mile away from the slopes, the rates are generally lower here than any properties that are within walking distance to the slopes. My kids are in middle school and high school, so they are at the point where they can carry their own gear. Saving money on lodging would leave us with plenty of wiggle room to splurge on a nice meal out or an additional activity that we may not have been able to do had we spent more on the accommodations.  The Quicksilver property is tucked away in the lodgepole pines on the opposite side of the highway as the resort.  It is in a very quiet area and had great views of the mountains and I absolutely loved watching the snow fall from our living room in this pretty, wooded area.  It really had the feel of a cabin in the woods.   The complex has a wonderful and large indoor pool and hot tub.  Nothing beats hitting the hot tub after a day on the slopes!  There is a shuttle stop located at the entrance of the condos, so getting to the slopes was a breeze.  About a 5 minute ride, we were there!  No worrying about parking and instead of having to walk across the village, we were dropped off at Mountain House, just yards from the lift! This was seriously easier than walking from a condo.  The shuttle picked up about every 20 minutes all day long.  We packed our lunches, stored them in a locker and headed up the Peru lift. One night we took the shuttle into River Run and had dinner at the Kickapoo Tavern and then walked around the village.  We window shopped and had a cup of hot chocolate as we warmed up by the firepit.  On our day off from skiing, we decided to take a try at ice skating and headed to the HUGE outdoor skating rink at Lakeside Village.  It had certainly been awhile since any of us had been on skates, but quickly we were skating laps, spinning and grinning from ear to ear.   I absolutely loved our family vacation in Keystone last year and Summit Cove made the booking process so easy.  I highly recommend calling them as you do your research - they know all of the properties so well! They also give you a coupon book that offers all sorts of discounts on your ski rentals, rental car, dining and activities.  They also said I will get a returning guest loyalty discount every time we come back to Keystone... needless to say, I am already planning next year's trip! I think we have found a family tradition that we all love! Thanks SummitCove for your help.  Quicksilver is an awesome place to stay!
