New Ice Rink Proposal Announced for Dercum Square!

Summer may just be heating up, but winter plans and improvements are also under way.   Keystone may become an even more incredible winter wonderland.  Vail Resorts is in the midst of a proposal to build an outdoor ice rink in River Run Village.   Under the current proposal, the rink would be build in Dercum Square close to the Dakota Lodge building.

The proposal for the project was submitted in April and is currently under review by the Summit County planning department.  You can check out the documents here.

The rink would have a refrigerated surface and removable railings as well as plans to keep the area above the rink well-lit.  A paved area could be used for in-line skating, roller skating and for special events.  The Dercum Square rink would be available for the entire community to enjoy and a great complement to the skating rink at Lakeside Village.   The proposed rink would limit foot traffic in this area of River Run while adding another fun-filled winter activity to enjoy on your Keystone vacation.
