Summer is almost upon us, and as tough as it can be to pack away the skis and snowboards, there are plenty of reasons to head to the higher elevations for summer. Keystone boasts a number of activities to keep you busy; not to mention some spectacular views for those who want cool mountain air and a gorgeous view. Just in case you need some extra motivation, here are our favorite summer activities at SummitCove:
Biking: Take in the scenery and give yourself some great exercise. The best part is that no matter where you are staying, you'll have easy access to biking trails. Try the paved trail connecting Keystone and Breckenridge or take the lifts up the hill and ride back down at any Summit County ski resort. To kick up the adventure, there are many off-road trails in Keystone and the surrounding area.
White Water River Rafting: This is one of the ultimate spring and summer mountain activities. There are several rivers and courses to enjoy in Summit County, and this is an activity that can be tailored to your comfort level and individual experience. Rafting is a great family activity, especially for older children. Keep in mind that reservations are always required, so there is some planning involved. This is guaranteed to make your vacation unforgettable!
Hiking: If you really want to get away from it all, lace up some hiking shoes. Try out Loveland Pass, Swan Mountain or the Colorado Trail.
Fishing: A calm day of fishing the Snake River (or finding another small lake or stream nearby) is the perfect way to spend a relaxing day. Another option is heading to the Lake Dillon Marina. Anyone who wants a quiet day to commune with nature will want to pack a pole or we'll help you find a place to rent one.
Golf: The warmer the weather gets, the more likely it is that golfers are itching to take out the clubs. Why not start the summer off right; with a gorgeous course in Keystone or one of several other offerings throughout Summit County? We are happy to make some recommendations for you!
