Breckenridge is only 17 miles from Keystone and has 2,908 acres of skiable land. The top elevation at Breckenridge resort is 12,998 ft and at Breck you can ski 3,398 vertical ft. You can enjoy 187 trails, the longest of which is Four O’Clock. Four O’Clock is 3.5 miles long!
Breckenridge is also known for having the highest ski lift in North America. The Imperial Express Superchair is the tallest high-speed quad chairlift in the world. You’ll start out at 11,901ft and end at 12,840ft at the top of Imperial. On the way down from Imperial, you will experience more of a back country feel. Some fresh powder and windy conditions are more likely on this bowl run. This lift serves very comfortable intermediate skiers and snowboarders, and if you hike up, you can reach Lake Chutes and Snow White. These runs are for advanced riders only! Experience some of the best views of Summit County from this run, you’ll see the beautiful Baldy mountain across, Quandary Peak to your right and see the Majestic Lake Dillon and Keystone resort in the distance as well!
Breckenridge is also known for its world-class terrain park. The terrain park consists of 14 jumps, a 22’ half pipe (one of the biggest in the world), 75 rails, boxes wallrides and jibs. Pro snowboarder or skier sightings are very likely to happen in Breck due to the extremely awesome terrain and trails. The annual Dew Tour is an event that will surely bring you some pro sightings! This free-style event is bound to wow you. See pros shred down the mountain whipping out impressive free-style tricks. You will also enjoy fun events and games at the base of peak 8. You may even get to snag some awesome free gear to take home!
Breckenridge Ski Resort is not just for the advanced skiers or snowboarders. There is a ton for the kids to do! Breck offers ski school with trained professionals for any skill level. There are also a variety of green runs and bunny hills for the beginning ski or snowboarders. One of the most easy green runs Breck has to offer is off the Quicksilver lift, it is called Silverthorne. It is wide and flat and good for any beginner level. Breck also recently put in a 2,500 ft high Alpine coaster. This coaster is on peak 8 and seats 1-2 passengers at a time. Control your own speed and enjoy looping turns and winding downhills through forest, above and around ski runs. There is no age requirement for this ride, as long as you are accompanied by someone of at least 16 years or older. You must weigh at least 45 lbs to ride this ride.
