4th of July Activities in Keystone and Summit County, Colorado

Keystone Fourth of July Events Celebrate independance day nestled in the Rocky Mountains, surrounded by fireworks, delicious food and spectacular kid's entertainment all weekend long in Keystone.  Keystone's Fourth of July is a children's 4th of July haven.  Kickoff the weekend at the Friday Afternoon Club, with free gondola rides, yard games, drink specials and live music from JB West Trio from 4 - 7 pm on Keystone's Dercum Mountain.  On Saturday the kids can participate at Kidtopia Super Snake River Science, a free event put on by the Keystone Science School that allows kids to explore and learn about the Snake River.  Sunday morning, Strider Bike Races start at 10am, for young kids ages 2 - 5.  Then the whole family can get together and enjoy a Mountaintop History Walk, an easy family hike with a guide who will share fun stories about Keystone's transformation from a mining town into the world class ski resort that we know and love today.   On Monday, relax, take in the mountain views and enjoy the day. Over in River Run, the family can enjoy a ton of kid-friendly events at Kidtopia until 3pm. These events include: a petting zoo, train rides, a live kids show, face painting, caricature drawings, a bounce house, and plenty more.  Grab a late lunch at the Lakeside Village BBQ and gear up for the Lakeside Fireworks at 9:30 pm.  Spend the afternoon paddle boarding on the lake or flying kite, where you can build and decorate your own kite and set it sail into the wind. Independance day kicks off in Keystone with their Free Kids Fishing Derby at Lakeside Village.  Registration for this event starts at 8 am, and the event starts at 9 am.  Bring your own gear to this, kids. 13 years of age  or younger event.  The Kids Fishing Derby will also have raffle prizes, BBQ and live music included in this event.  After this event, you can take the kiddos to a bike or wagon decorating event in River Run.   The decorating starts right at 10:30am, the kids are given one bag of decorations per child.  The line for the parade starts at 11am.  This is just a sampling of all the events and activities slated for long holiday weekend.  Book your family 4th of July vacation today and get your 4th night of lodging free when you stay with SummitCove Vacation Rentals! The day starts off with an Independence Day 10k trail run which starts at 7 am at Carter Park and and ends at  Carter Park.  Promptly After the start of the 10k, will mark the start of the Firecracker 50 Mountain Bike Race which is also the start of the 4th of July Parade at 9:30am.  The floats and colorguard actually follow the mountain bikers down mainstreet!  Walk around main street after the parade and experience the entertainment.  There are plenty more events and entertainment to see after the parade!  There is a drum circle taking place on main street from 1 pm - 3 pm,  Free pony rides  in the Blue River Plaza from 1 pm - 3 pm, The National Repertory Orchestra is playing at 8:00pm at the Riverwalk Center, Funkiphino is playing a concert from 2 pm - 4 pm at the Riverwalk Center, plus so much more!  Come see why Breckenridge is a go-to destination for Independance day fun!   Copper and Frisco Fourth of July Events Copper and Frisco have one of the most action-packed fourth of July schedules in the entire county! There's music, fireworks, food and fun.  Kid-friendly events such as the Kids Fishing Derby are bound to get the whole family excited.  All the action starts on July 3rd in Copper!  At 1 pm on the 3rd, Three Dog Night will play a funky free concert at Copper mountain!   On the 4th, you can start your day with the annual Team Summit Pancake Breakfast at the old Community Center between the hours of 7 am - 11 am.  Take a break from your pancakes to watch the Fishing Derby!!  This will take place in Frisco, behind the Walmart in the Meadow Creek Park.  This event is for kids 15 years or younger, supplies not included, so bring your own poles. Watch your kids race to catch the biggest fish! After the Derby, walk over to Frisco Main street and enjoy the parade.  Kids can ride their decorated bikes in the parade!  The little bikers are set to meet at the west side of Town Hall at 11:45 am.  They can show off their bikes and there will even be a contest for the best decorated bike in the parade!  Kids have to be 12 years or younger to participate.  After the parade, you and your family can go to Main street to enjoy free concerts and interactive events that go from 1:30 to 9:15.
