A How To Guide for Arapahoe Basin!

Skiing at Arapahoe Basin!

Arapahoe Basin is one of the nearby ski resorts next to Keystone and offers a great alternative for skiers and boarders! In addition, your lift tickets are always good at either resort! Arapahoe Basin is famous for its Back Bowls and difficult runs; however, it has plenty of greens and blues for beginners and intermediates!

Arapahoe Basin also has a new high speed chair lift and the lines are never very long, giving you the maximum amount of time on the slopes. There are also terrain parks and plenty of dining options on the mountain! It's a perfect escape and offers an additional ski area for those looking to ski multiple mountains in glorious Summit County.

How to get to Arapahoe Basin

Arapahoe Basin is the closest ski resort to Keystone and is just along Highway 6/ Loveland Pass. Arapahoe Basin is about 6 miles away from the heart of Keystone, or about a 10 minute drive from most areas of Keystone.

To get there, simply take Highway 6 East (or away from Dillon/ I-70) and it will be on the right hand side of the road with plenty of signage and parking lots, it's really hard to miss. If you are driving your vehicle, there are quite a few lots in the area and shuttles from the parking lot to the base area. The main parking lots are free (with the exception of the administration lot, which is a pay parking lot) and the shuttle service is also provided for free. If you do not have a vehicle, hope is not lost, there is also a bus that can take you to Arapahoe Basin from Keystone!

Arapahoe Basin – Keystone Buses

The public transportation system is provided by Summit Stage and is the only free transportation system in Summit County. The buses serve each stop once per hour and typically run from 7 AM to 5 PM daily (to and from Arapahoe Basin although it runs longer to other stops). The Bus Line is called the Swan Mountain Flyer and picks up/drops off at the bus stop is River Run Village (many buses stop at both of these locations so make sure you are getting on the correct bus).

For pick-up/drop off times they are as follows:

• River Run Village towards A. Basin: 6:55 AM to 4:55 PM (on the :55 hourly)

• Arapahoe Basin to River Run Village: 7:10 AM to 5:10 PM (on the :10 hourly)
