Have you ever wanted to check out a local park but decided otherwise because of the high park entrance fee? Now you can check out a seven-day State Park Pass at one of eight libraries in Colorado at no cost! These passes not only include your entrance to the park, but also a backpack filled with educational information and activities to help guide and engage in the park experience. It even includes items like binoculars, a compass, bird pocket book, bug box and more.
These passes are good for all 42 State parks including parks such as Sylvan Lake outside of Eagle to Lory State Park outside of Fort Collins to Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs. State park passes can be renewed and reserved just as you would a library book.
Currently only eight libraries are participating as pilot libraries until April, 2016 when the program will be expanding. This program comes as part of the governor's initiative to encourage Coloradans to connect with the natural environments provided by the State Parks and to take advantage of OUR lands.
