Great Events for a Good Cause this Labor Day Weekend!

If you and your family and friends are still looking for a unique way to celebrate Labor Day weekend, head up to Summit County.  The Summit Foundation is putting on some fabulous events in nearby Breckenridge.  You can easily make it from your Keystone lodging to enjoy these spectacular events.  It's another great opportunity to have some fun and make a difference all while taking in some of the most gorgeous scenery that Colorado has to offer.

Saturday, September 3rd, your whole family will be delighted with the Annual Great Rubber Duck Race at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge.  At 1 pm, kids will love the Kids Duck Dash.  The Business Battle Duck Race takes place at 2pm with local Summit County businesses competing for the top spot!  Finally, at 3 pm, the Great Rubber Duck Race will begin. You can adopt a duck online and watch as it races the Blue River!

On Sunday, September 4th is the Breck Crest Mountain Marathon.  With Half Marathon and Marathon trail runs, this popular annual event is known for its rugged nature, elevation gain, and incredible scenery.  All races are run on dirt singletrack trails and forest service roads in the Ten Mile Range above Breckenridge.  One of the most difficult and scenic long-distance events in America, the near-marathon distance race traverses the Ten Mile Range above timberline and rises to an altitude of 12,400 feet.  Each race begins and ends at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge.  Entry forms and specific details on this year's event can be found at Maverick Sports Promotions.  Individuals may also sign up for the race at The Summit Foundation's office.
