River Run Village at Keystone Resort is Getting a New Snowmelt System!

Exciting changes are coming to Keystone, with a new snowmelt system in River Run Village. The entire paved base area of River Run will soon stay clear and dry in the winter season thanks to the upcoming installation of a new snowmelt system that will heat the pavement and make the walkways safe for skiers and guests.  No more slipping in those ski boots!    The new system will be more modern and provide for easier maintenance in the future. These improvements have just begun, having started on April 9th, the day after the mountain closed. Construction on the project will continue in phases throughout the summer and should be completely wrapped up by November, just in time for opening day 2018 at Keystone Ski Resort.   With the summer season attracting hikers, bikers, and nature lovers to Keystone, the gondola and shops at River Run will always remain accessible during construction through marked paths and designated sidewalks. During summer festivals such as the Wine and Jazz Festival on July 14th & 15th, construction will be stopped. Keystone Neighborhood Company anticipates the construction will have little to no impact on the festivals.    The construction will take place in sections replacing the snowmelt systems from gondola to the entrance of River Run Village via Montezuma parking lot. Asphalt in areas will be replaced with pavers creating a stylish modern look in the village. Look forward to an updated and dry River Run Village for the 2018/2019 winter season!
