There are a myriad of reasons people have for not signing ski or ride lessons, but taking a lesson can be the difference between a good ski vacation and a great ski vacation! Just one lesson might be the key to perfecting your technique or boosting your child's confidence on the slopes.
Until about a year ago, I had never taken a lesson for snowboarding. I started skiing as a kid and switched to snowboarding when I was in middle school. Snow is no stranger to me. I have considered myself an advanced rider for a few years, so the thought of taking a riding lesson had never crossed my mind. It wasn't until about a year ago when the opportunity for me to take a snowboard lesson changed my whole view on ski and ride school and personal lessons.
Ski and ride lessons can be expensive but often we forget the value of something with a heavy price tag. One or two lessons can dramatically increase your skill level on the slopes and not only boost your confidence but enable you to hit that double black diamond you've been eyeing all season. Ski and ride lessons aren't just for beginners, either. Are you trying a new mountain for the first time? Take a lesson and you will have a great opportunity to fine tune your abilities AND get a local's tour of the mountain.
A ski vacation is a great way to bond with your kids but let someone else teach your child how ski or ride so you can enjoy your time on the slopes. Teaching your kids or friends can be very frustrating for both parties involved. A half day lesson is a great way to let your child learn AND have the opportunity to hit the slopes with them after lunch. You might even be able to learn tips from your kids as they show you what they worked on that morning with the instructor!
