Spring Skiing and Events in Summit County

"Fun in the sun" doesn't just refer to sandy beaches and surfing the pipeline, but also to snowy beaches and riding the half-pipe. With beautiful weather and fun events like the Slush Cup and Red Bull Schlittentag, why would you want to miss Keystone in April? Not sure what those events are? Perhaps it is time you enjoy them!

Red Bull Schlittentag

Every year the bravest of souls risk their lives, their pride and their home-made sleds to race down the hilly course in style! Each team consists of three sledders and their craft sled and is judged according to creativity, fastest time and the distance the sled flies through the air off the small kicker built for the competition.

Do you have what it takes to claim first place? Grab your team and start building your sled! This Red Bull competition is not to be taken lightly; the glory of victory only glows on the bravest of sledders. This event is happening on Saturday, April 4! Check out Red Bull to register today!

Keystone Slush Cup

This is not an event you are going to want to miss! Competing for Best Costume, Best Crash and Best Overall, skiers and snowboarders alike don their coolest costumes and speed down the slope to skim across a pond of water. Only some make it across the pond while the rest must swim out of the agony of a slushy crash-landing.

This event takes place on Keystone's closing day, Sunday, April 12. Registration is in the morning from 8:30am - 10am. The competition begins at 10:30am and lasts until 1pm. Spectating is also highly encouraged. Hang around for live music at the Last Lift Bar at 3pm! This will be a day to remember and the winner heads on to the championships in Vail! Sign up for the Keystone Slush Cup here!

Spring Fever Breck Keystone's proximity to Breckenridge gives us the benefit of enjoying Spring Fever in Breck! Interested in hearing some great live music from bands like American Authors, The Infamous Stringdusters or Third Eye Blind? The second and third weekends in Breck are sure to impress!

Or if you prefer to test your skills in the park, check out Spring Fever Park Jam! Breck will be hosting contests along with some free music and hot dogs on Fridays from April 3 through April 17.

Spring Back to Vail Vail hosts a closing weekend party as well with free concerts all weekend!  Friday, April 17 - Sunday, April 19 enjoy free shows by Portugal the Man, Trampled by Turtles, and the Greyboy Allstars.  This is also the site of the World Pond Skimming Championships on Sunday the 19th,  from 1:30 - 5pm at Golden Peak.  The top male and female winners take home an Epic season pass for the 2015 - 2016 ski season and a pair of Liberty skis!

26th Annual Enduro & Après Party at Arapahoe Basin This community event is fun and supports a good cause!  On April 15, participants in teams of 2 spend the day lapping the Pali chair from 7am - 5pm, hoping to get the most runs of the 30 teams. The event benefits a local Arapahoe Basin employee who has been battling breast cancer. Join the for-all after party with a specialty Enduro beer brewed by Breckenridge's Broken Compass Brewery and enjoy the live music, silent auction and pasta dinner!  Can't make it on the 15th?  A-Basin is known for their 'beach', which is open every day the mountain is!  Bring a cooler and grill and spend the day basking in the sun in between laps!

We look forward to seeing you this April for these exciting events!
