3rd Annual Das Bier Burner at Keystone Oktoberfest on Labor Day Weekend

If you are looking for a fun way to spend your 3-day Labor Day weekend with your family, why not head to Keystone Resort? On Saturday, September 3, Keystone's River Run Village turns on the German flare hosting one of Colorado's best Oktoberfest celebrations along with the Das Bier Burner 5K! Sunday features A Taste of Keystone and then enjoy some down time for activities and relaxing in between!   The weekend kicks off with the 3rd Annual Das Bier Burner 5K family fun run on Saturday, September 3.  Runners of all ages gear up in their best Oktoberfest costumes and line up at the entrance of River Run Village on Ida Belle Drive.  When the air horn blows, the fun begins as runners start off on their 3.1 mile journey, which runs mostly along the paved Keystone bike path. Some people choose to walk or push a stroller.  They head down Montezuma road, up and around the Settler's Creek complex, through the new Alders Townhomes and next to the Snake River.  The race loops back into River Run, passing by Black Bear Lodge, Dakota and Expedition Station, finally finishing through the heart of River Run. The SummitCove Yeti and everyone in the village cheers the runners on at the big finish.  Next comes the best costume awards and winners ceremony!  We have seen all sorts of crazy costumes, from lederhosen, yetis, beer girls and even a recently married bride and groom who took home the male and female best costume prizes by running in their wedding attire! Every runner receives an event T-shirt and goody bag as well as a brat from New Moon Cafe and a New Belgium Beer (21+) after the race at Keystone Oktoberfest!  Register for the Das Bier Burner 5K family fun run online by September 2 or you can also register in person from 8:45 - 11:15 am on Saturday the 3rd!  Proceeds from this event go to support SOS Outreach, who help at-risk youth  through mountain programs and mentoring, such as learning how to snowboard!   After the race, shower up in your River Run condo and then head back down to the village and raise your stein!  Colorado brewed Oktoberfest beers will be served up all afternoon, along with some amazing German themed foods such as bratwursts, Bavarian pretzels, schnitzels and more!  Live music from the Summit Concert Band and Those Austrian Guys will be going on all afternoon, along with live performances from the Edelweiss Polka Dancers! Kids and adults will have a blast joining in the fun.   On Sunday, head over to Lakeside Village for a Taste of Keystone where you can sample cuisine from many of Keystone's finest chefs and restaurants.  The kids will have fun feeding the oversized fish and ducks and playing on the sand beach.  Rent stand-up paddle boards or a paddle boat to get out on the water.   Keystone is also home to tons of other family fun activities such as biking, hiking, and gold fishing.  Take your family on one last summer getaway in the mountains before the snow starts to fly!  Keystone Oktoberfest, the Das Bier Burner 5K, and a Taste of Keystone are both family friendly events happening on Labor Day Weekend at Keystone Resort.  Book your discounted lodging for Labor Day Weekend here.
