Vail Resorts Announces Epic Mix
Today Vail resorts announced its newest online and mobile application for skiers and riders to share their experience at Vail Resorts. It's called Epic Mix, and it allows season pass holders and any lift ticket holder with an embedded radio frequency to track their time on the lifts, average runs per day and even vertical descent over the course of a season! Radio Frequency scanners have been installed on each of the 89 Vail Resorts' lifts. More cool features include allowing guests to share their statistics and accomplishments via Facebook and Twitter and even make leader boards to track their performance amongst friends and family.
Another feature of Epic Mix will allow smart phones users to stream real-time activity and even send private messages to groups and Facebook friends who are on the mountain. Guests will also be able to link their passes to family members (such as their children) in order to track the lift rides of their kids in real time. Epic Mix will even have collectible digital pins for accomplishing specific unique experiences available at each resort.
Now any guest at Vail Resorts can track their statistics from every visit to any Vail Resorts mountain. This feature is set to revolutionize how people look at their skiing statistics. Gone are the days of trying to remember how many runs you skied over the course of the season and estimating how much vertical descent you accumulated during each day. Epic Mix's tracking and real time data streaming to smart phones will allow people to communicate their plans to each other; and for the first time ever you will be able to track your stats against your friends to ultimately determine who got the most runs in over the course of the season.
