Keystone received its first major snowfall of the upcoming 2024 - 2025 ski season on October 21, 2024. The resort has already started snowmaking and has one of the most state of the art snowmaking systems in the country, allowing for some of the best early season skiing and riding in the country. Temperatures must cooperate though to have to correct conditions to blow snow, so it is still up to mother nature as to when they can open. Keystone anticipates opening sometime soon, though no announcements have yet been made.
