Keystone Colorado Family Reunion Activity Idea- Fun for Everyone

The highlight of our family reunion in Keystone, Colorado was the chuck wagon dinner and wild west show with Two Below Zero! It was so much fun that I want to return and bring my friends, too! Two Below Zero is located in Frisco, and it is a short and pretty twenty minute drive from Keystone.

When we arrived at Two Below Zero we were beginning a three hour adventure! To start we climbed up on a large wagon pulled by a team of mules that was led by a cowboy or a cowgirl. We are from NYC and when my daughter saw her first cowgirl, she whispered to me, “someday I’m going to be a real cowgirl!’ We rode through a forest and had spectacular views in all directions! It was about a twenty minute wagon ride, and it was fun to learn about the mules and relax into the evening.

Once we arrived at the campground there were different games set up, and both of my kids got to practice at being real cowboys and real cowgirls. My daughter could not believe it! They had cowboy golf, cornhole toss, horseshoes and an area to practice ropin’. It was fun for everyone no matter what age! It was also great to have some fun outdoor games to play. While we were enjoying the games, Two Below Zero fed us warm biscuits and honey. They also had kids drinks and canned adult beverages.

Suddenly a dinner bell rang, everyone hollers, and it was time for dinner! We felt like we were on a real ranch, and everyone loved the atmosphere. Dinner was yummy! We ate smoked BBQ Brisket and BBQ chicken, with savory beans and buttery corn on the cob. For dessert we had delicious peach cobbler with whipped cream! It was hearty portions and everyone was full and happy!

Just when I thought the evening couldn’t get any better the entertainment started! It was a hilarious Wild West Show by the Jackman Brothers! They got the kids and some family members up on stage! It was so fun that the show was interactive with the crowd, and both of my children had a hootin’, tootin’, rootin’ good time!

Before we knew it it was time to get back on the wagons and let the mules pull us back to where we started. The stars were out, and it was a beautiful night. My children saw shooting stars for the first time! It was very magical and something we will talk about for a very long time! The family memories we made at Two Below Zero were unforgettable. I think it might have been life changing for my daughter because her new goal is to move to Colorado, and yup, you guessed it, be a “real cowgirl”! This was definitely the highlight of our trip to Keystone. Thank you Two Below Zero! We will be back!
