Most of the time, the mornings in Keystone are a bluebird kind of a day with the mountains getting the usual afternoon storm which is usually short and sweet. If it turns out to be that rare 'rainy' day, there is still plenty of fun things to do around Keystone and Summit County.
Ready Paint Fire
Test your artistic skills at Ready Paint Fire right in River Run Village in Keystone! You can paint your own ceramic piece of art or create your own "Monet" on canvas. The kiln fires every night so you are able to pick up your art the next day. The Keystone studio's summer season runs from June 25 - August 14 from 12 pm - 6 pm daily.
Adventure Center, Lakeside Village, Keystone
While most folks go to the Adventure Center to rent one of their boats or feed the fish, inside in the Center there are some fun arcade games to play plus a free Wii interactive gaming system. They also serve food items the kids will love.
Silverthorne Rec Center
It the weather forces you to stay inside, head to the Silverthorne Rec Center where you can still get a good workout in. You can pay for a day admission and have access to 4 pools, waterslides, hot tubs, steam room, sauna, gymnasium, group fitness classes and workout facilities. Your kids will still be tired at the end of the day!
Micro Brews
Summit County has some outstanding micro brews and a rainy day is a perfect day to check them out. You can start in Dillon at Pug Ryan's which has been a local gathering spot since it opened in 1975. The Brewery was founded in 1997 to brew beer that complimented it's steakhouse menu. Next stop would be the Dam Brewery just off Highway 6 in Dillon. This Brewery has over 14 varieties of beer. With this many beers, it can be your only stop! But that wouldn't be much fun so head towards the Silverthorne Outlets and you'll find the newest Summit County brewery, Baker's Brewery which features homemade sourdough breads, great views of Buffalo Mountain, quality comfort foods and delicious handcrafted beer. Next stop: Backcountry Brewery in Frisco. The beers here were crafted to appeal to the outdoor enthusiast. After a few tastings, head to Breckenridge Brewery where you can first take a tour to learn about their brewing process and after enjoy one of your favorites with good food. Since you have eaten, head over to the Broken Compass Brewery which is a traditional brewery (no food) and has some more creative brews so you're sure to find a good dessert beer. If you hit all the spots, just make sure to have a designated driver!
Lakeside Bowl and Billiards in Dillon
This bowling alley is a perfect place to spend a rainy day but still get a little exercise. There are 12 lanes, pool tables, dart boards, and a shuffleboard table. They also play great 80's and 90's music, have good food, and are a local's favorite! Check their Facebook page for current hours and specials.
